Chesapeake Beach Resort

We stayed here for 2 nights in late Feb/early March in a deluxe ocean view king suite with teenagers. I highly recommend booking ocean view. Check in was very strange. I called ahead and said that I needed to refrigerate my medication and the very kind person said they would put in for an early check-in. I arrived around 2pm and asked if my room was ready. The front desk people would not answer my question and told me that check in was at 4pm. I asked them if they would take my phone number and they said- just keep calling us, we may lose your number???? Finally did check in at 4pm but they also were strange and didn't offer us "champagne" like they did the other guests who were checking in. Very poor check-in experience. Our room itself was clean, the bedroom and bathroom were great and I loved the balcony. Kids said that the pullout couch was awful, so my husband took one for the team the 2nd night. There is a tiny fridge and we walked to Publix and CVS- the Publix has great sandwiches for lunch- grabbed beer and wine on the way. I read about Wahoo next store and there was also a fun club next store, but we went to happy hour and then to bed, so I can't talk about those venues. We had dinner at Lorelei and Papa Joe's and loved both for sunset- highlight of our trip! We took ubers that were not too $. We did not get the warm breakfast, but did enjoy the fresh fruit and yogurt and I chatted with the chef, who was very kind and amiable. The breakfast is like a holiday inn breakfast, but people seemed to love it. I need more protein in the am, and suggest they add in cottage cheese and hard boiled eggs. I loved the coffee there, but there is a starbucks across the bridge if you needed it. Overall, we had a good time. I have not been anywhere else in the area, so I can't say if we would stay again or if we got a good deal. If you are looking for relaxation with a great view (no swimming) and you get a good deal- check this place out. Pros: - The balcony is fantastic! We all enjoyed sitting out there in the am and dusk. - the sunrise is beautiful and I enjoyed that the coffee was ready at 6am- I would sit and sip and enjoy, watch dolphins and the sunrise. - We never had an issue getting loungers. - We did use the kayak one day and had fun, but didn't see any wildlife - dogs are allowed- always a plus :) We met some furry friends. - My daughter fished and had a good time- I think the bait was maybe $5 and they gave her a fishing pole. - parking was not an issue - The cleaning staff were very nice and gave us clean towels when asked. We did not have the room cleaned since we were only there for 2 nights. - they gave these really comfy robes which I would wear for sunrise. It was a nice touch. - the room was clean, the bathroom was spacious with a separate toilet with a door. - we brought up fresh fruit and yogurt from the breakfast which was useful. One day they had avocado which was a nice touch. - my daughter purchased lunch from the bar and said it was good. Cons - Like many hotels, the pool was taken over by very loud guests, so I never stepped foot in that area. - They had no water available. They need to put in a water fountain with purified water. I had to walk up to the ice machine and then ask the bartender to let me in to the breakfast room to fill it up with water. I'm not looking for bottled water, but to not have filtered water in Fl is not ok. - again- not really their fault, but one night, the people next store were outside smoking on the patio and speaking very loudly. I could also clearly hear them through the walls. We had sound machines so it didn't affect us for sleep, but we couldn't hang out outside that night. - There is no gym. I walked in the am both ways, which was fine, but they need some sort of small fitness area. - there is no beach here, which I knew when I booked. I was fine going in the water in the kayak, but this is not a swimmable beach if that is what you are looking for.

I loved our room with the great view. I love the grounds of the hotel was very pretty. The breakfast every morning was a wonderful bonus. We were able to walk to other locations too. We loved our stay.

We only had time for a two night stay, but wish it could’ve been much longer. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The shower felt amazing. The staff was helpful and incredibly kind. The made -to-order omelettes were out of this world. The beach view was amazing. We were bummed we did not have a chance to try out the pools or the hot tub, but everything looked well kept and inviting. The play area with the giant chess and checker boards, and the cornhole looked fun. If you’re looking for a fancy resort with all the bells and whistles, this is not your place. But if you want to go somewhere where you can relax, feel comfortable, have an easy, delicious breakfast, and be treated properly, I strongly suggest you make your reservation today!! We’d like to send a special shout out to Jonathan, who was on duty the night we checked in. He went above and beyond. What an impressive young man!

Resort is beautiful. Views, location. The beach was awesom3

Bathroom was beautiful but there was no towel hooks or hangers and there was no place to put cosmetics. W3 moved a table from the sitting area into the bathroom to accommodate cosmetics, our clothes while showering, etc.

It was pretty nice. Nice room and comfortable.

It was way overpriced for what it was and the front desk staff were uptight and snooty.

Five stars all the way! The room was spotless and comfortable but honestly..That ocean view from the balcony best I’ve ever seen. Woke up to turquoise water every morning. Breakfast was fresh and tasty while watching the sun rise off the water and the staff? So warm and helpful made us feel right at home. Awesome front desk staff Jazmin and Vanessa very welcoming! Chesapeake Beach Resort nailed it perfect Keys getaway. Can’t wait to come back!

Great resort great view of the beach and sunrise! The grounds are beautiful as well. At check-in we were welcomed with a glass of champagne. Rooms were very clean, comfortable bed & pillows. The rooms are spacious and loved it had robes with slippers. Awesome friendly staff “Jazmin & Julissa” The breakfast crew was also amazing and the made-to-order omelets and pancakes were delicious. Enjoyed the free kayaks! I will be returning! Very satisfying!
