Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre

Shower area had long black hair and the towels also had long black hair on them. Sliding door to balcony looks like it has not need cleaned in awhile.

We were sadly disappointed with our riverside chalet at the Liscombe Lodge. It is in serious need of a total renovation—ver run down to say the least. To make matters worse the room had not been properly cleaned. We did voice our concerns to management and they reduced the room rate to compensate for the cleaning issue. The facility has so much potential, it just needs a lot of TLC. The meal we had at the restaurant was very good and staff are friendly. Hiking trails are nice but not spectacular.

Pool had scum all around the sides of the pool.dining was limited to a small menu the grounds were not kept that tidy.

This lodge stood out from other places we stayed in Nova Scotia. Here's why - they managed to combine a "homey" personal feel with outstanding customer service in a gorgeous setting. The cabins are well appointed and newly updated, but retain the character of a cabin. Many of the cabins are directly alongside a scenic river (see the pictures).

BEAUTIFUL SCENERY ALL AROUND YOU. FROM THE WELL MAINTAIN GROUNDS TO THE SOUNDS OF THE RUNNING RIVER. THE CHALETS ARE PERFECT TO SIT OUT ON THE DECK AND LISTEN TO THE RIVER AND TO ENJOY A CAMPFIRE. THEY ARE COMFORTABLE WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED, FRIDGE, MICROWAVE, HEAT PUMP AND WALL MOUNTED FIRE PLACE, FOR A COZY FEELING. ALL THE STAFF WERE AMAZING AND THEY TAKE CARE OF ANYTHING YOU NEED. LISCOMBE LODGE HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE OF ALL AGES. THERE ARE KAYAKS TO USE OR BOOK A BOAT TOUR OF THE LISCOMBE RIVER ON THE PONTOON BOAT, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. A HUGE INDOOR POOL WITH HOT TUBS AND A LARGE DECK OUT FRONT WITH BEAUTIFUL COMFORTABLE PATIO CHAIRS TO ENJOY THE SUN. THEY HAVE A LITTLE FARM WITH RABBITS, CHICKENS, GOATS AND A MULE, MAKE SURE TO VISIT THEM AND SAY HI TO EARL THE MULE, HE LOVES APPLES. THE DINING ROOM OVERLOOKS THE RIVER AND THE MENU HAS A VARIETY OF CHOICES, THE SEAFOOD CHOWDER IS THE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A STAY AT THE LISCOMBE LODGE RESORT ON THE BEAUTIFUL EASTERN SHORE!

The grounds are lovely and picturesque and the staff are very kind, however I would never stay in their lodge again. Although the beds and pillows were quite comfortable the bathroom toilet seat in our room was not stable as a screw was loose. There is no cell service for an android, only Apple. The landline in our room did not work. We had an urgent situation at home so had to use the front desk phone allowing for no privacy. The staff were very accommodating, even allowing a free long distance call, but it was very inconvenient for them also, as this was the only phone they had to conducte their business. I had to put my family on hold while the receptionist made a reservation. The dining staff were nice but the food was less than desirable and definitely not worth the price. An experience in their bungalows may have been very different especially if you bring your own food.

The place was filthy! We had to drive down the highway to our cottage which was right on the highway. There was no Wi-Fi, no place to plug anything in, no gluten-free options, no gym despite seeing photos, pool was filthy. Staff were rude. We had to make a dinner reservation and breakfast reservation, even though the restaurant was empty both times. The staff were cold, and we spent our dinner, listening to our server, complain to another table about management. we were supposed to stay four nights but we only stayed one night.

Room was large, quiet, and clean with balcony overlooking river. There was a whirlpool bathtub in the bedroom area, which was not expected. Resort has hiking and walking trails but we arrived too late in day to go up to the falls. Tried to take the shorter trail on other side of bridge but it had not been maintained and was flooded out. During dinner at restaurant, staff were very attentive and salmon was cooked well. Breakfast buffet was okay

Go to Liscombe Lodge if you love nature and the perfect blend of activity (hiking,kayaking, swimming) and relaxation (bird watching, campfires, playing board games, great meals). And the staff are just great! We love the chalets by the Liscombe River and the sound of the falls. We have been here many times and cannot say enough good about the overall experience!
