"Great staff"

8.0

Everyone was eager to help and truly seemed to want everyone to enjoy there stay. this was evident from Natalia, when making a reservation and answering all my questions to Jean at the Front desk having such patience and grace helping everyone with a smile. the manager Stacey willing to drive us when our ATV broke down to try to make sure we didn't miss out on the fun!. the Staff are top notch and make it worth it. our stay was for an atv rally and although our bike broke and we couldn't complete the ride we still had a great time. However the advertising stated live entertainment Saturday night, which to me would indicate a local band or singer for the evening. disappointing that all they had was a spotify Playlist and a costco bluetooth speaker. Overall, we did enjoy our mini vacation. we will likely be back. The chalets (cabins) The chalets are located on the opposite side of the highway from the lodge but there is a walking tunnel under the highway to easily walk to the lodge and facilities. We stayed in chalet 8. the disappointing view from the deck was church pews lined up facing the river. this is a permanent set up for weddings and there was a small wedding during our stay. I wouldn't recommend this cottage if you want to relax. the cottage itself was nice, clean, Rustic with some updates. a king size bed, walk in shower, toilet was higher than a standard. room had a fridge and a microwave. Chalet 1 is beside the highway chalet 5 isn't on the river. chalet 7 overlooks a pump house. chalet 9 and 10 are very private overlooking the river but having swampy areas between them and the river and appear to be very shaded. The trails (hiking) we brought our dogs and had planned to do some hikes with our dogs but all the trails are overgrown and not maintained. we did complete the mayflower trail and it was bushwacking and washed away in places. it was like being in the movie the goodies and watching out for boobie traps with every step. if you are going to nature hikes I would avoid until some work has been done. The Dining room. The employees in the dining room were great. unfortunately they are understaffed and the the servers were also cleaning tables and playing hostess. Emma was the best and was able to handle more tables while also doing those other duties and continued to be pleasant and cater to her customers needs. She is definitely an asset to the lodge. The food was highly overpriced and if I went again I would bring a camp stove/bbq and make meals myself. $50 for bbq chicken and COLD buffet with a sad selection is just not worth it. the food all tasted lovely (except the bland steak) and was good just not worth the prices charged The chairs at the tables are horribly uncomfortable and not anything like what you see in their pictures.

"Good choice between Halifax and Sydney"

8.0

Very well located excellent service. The lodge is tired, little musty and in places show the absence of a proper spring clean. However in many ways the outstanding staff make up for this. Food is good and interesting with lots of variety. Walking round the river/inlet site is great. It’s peaceful as well.

"No food at the inn, "

6.0

We arrived at this hotel early approx 2.30pm and thought we would book a meal for the evening. We were told that the only slot they had was 6pm as they had a coach party booked in. As we were eating we saw a number of guest turned away as they were busy although there were a number of empty tables. This hotel is not near any other restaurants pretty much approx 16 kms from the nearest place to eat. Hotels should be able to accommodate all their guest especially when out in the sticks.

"Not enough time."

10.0

We stayed in the main lodge on the second floor over looking the river. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable with everything you need., microwave, air conditioning etc.We loved the grounds, could of spend days wandering around the grounds. Beautiful pool room . Love Earl ( the mule) at the petting zoo. Sharon was great at the front desk. Food was good in the restaurant and service was great. We will definitely be back and spend more than 1 night.

"An Eastern Shore Institution "

10.0

Our meals were Delicious and generously portioned. The best Lobster roll ever; large meaty chunks with fresh celery and green onions in an unobtrusive dressing. The cup of chowder was excellent. My son had very fresh fish n chips, and my husband’s planked salmon was fantastic, as were the accompaniments. Our waitress, Christa was outstanding!

"Excellent"

Overall it was a good stay. I mentioned the first night that there wasn't a phone in my room. Front desk did nothing to fix this. There is no cell service. And when you order take out at the restaurant they call your room. With no phone in room ( I mentioned this already when I went up first time) I walked up to the lodge again to see if my food was ready and it had been sitting there cold for at least 20 minutes. It should of been re made. Other than that everything was great stay.

"A quiet get-away"

Good selection of activities, great location, clean and comfortable room, great food. Hiking trail was not fully accessible while we were there due to recent heavy rains, but there was plenty of other things to keep us occupied.

"Amazing stay!!"

10.0

This is our second trip to Liscombe and we have decided that we may extend our visit next year, as the resort has so much to offer for families! Our teens were able to use the bikes, kayaks and canoes on the resort. The pool and hot tub and sauna features were lovely, and the addition of the animals is such a great thing too! As always, the food was spectacular! I have to shout out Sharon at the front desk for her AMAZING customer service. She deserves a raise for sure! She was a breath of fresh air to deal with, and she helped make our stay much more comfortable by moving us into another chalet upon arrival. Clean room, beautiful scenery and great amenities and food- what more could you ask for?! We will be back :)
