Sleep Inn & Suites Davenport - Quad Cities

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in May. Overall, our stay at this Sleep Inn was good. Our room was very nice: clean, comfortable and spacious. The pool and hot tub were a nice feature. But there were some issues that made us feel that the hotel management was being pressured to cut too many corners, especially at breakfast. There were shortages of several items and pastries were stale; on our third morning, they had run out of pastries and yogurt. Twice, I had to go to the front desk and ask for salt and pepper; apparently, the hotel gets dinged on their inspection if they do not use the approved dispensers, and they had been unable to order them. So, they didn't put the S&P out, choosing to inconvenience customers rather than risk their inspection score. Wrong priorities. It was a nightly adventure getting the jets on the hot tub to work; I saw several customers experience this. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but it could have been better.

Pool and location.

Jacuzzi was hard to get to work. Towels were folded and placed in our room were still dirty. The toaster was not functioning at breakfast. The entire place needs an update.

It was dated and gross.

The pool was small and cold. My daughter cut her foot on something sharp on the bottom of the pool. Her foot was gushing blood as soon as she got out. I went to the front desk to let them know and also get a bandaid and no one was there. The carbon monoxide detector started beeping at 4:30am because it had low battery. The fitness room was tiny, poor equipment, and sooo hot with no fans. The treadmill wouldn’t work without a WiFi password so the front desk had to get it going. The window was unlocked in our room. Good thing I checked it before we went to bed.

Easy to find. Easy directions.

There were a lot of potholes throughout the parking lot as well as near the entrances. Those could be improved or resurfaced as they could do serious damage to your vehicle. The first night, the swimming pool only had a couple of towels on the shelf in the swimming pool, and the next night, I went to go to the hot tub, and checked to see if they had towels on the shelf in the pool and they didn’t. I went to tell the front desk and nothing got done and then when my brother decided to get out of the pool area, I asked him to tell the front desk that there were no towels. Luckily they brought some towels. I don’t know if they were short staffed or maybe they don’t get a lot of guests or families at the hotel or if it varies and that’s why they don’t check the pool towels if it’s not busy. That could be improved in keeping the shelf stocked with towels for guests instead of having to ask the staff to bring them.
