JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa

I booked a sundeck suite for 5 nights that had about 1000 sq ft outside deck overlooking the lazy river and water slides. The outside deck had a large dining room table under lattice, a couch, 2 chairs, and a table. What was missing was 2 lounger chairs that were clearly displayed on the JW website advertising the unit. I spoke with 3 people over the day about getting any kind if lounger chair and was told point blank....it wasn't going to happen..In fact the front desk lady hung up on me twice and I wasn't being rude. Just pointing out the obvious. This is a water park facility that has about 1000 chairs on the site. I even offered to go get two and was told I couldn't do that. Thankfully the next morning a more senior manager called to apologize and get us two lounger chairs. I told him I wasn't sure if I dealing with a top hotel or a government agency. We did not get comped anything and we spent quite a bit at the hotel.

Only spent one night here, but would happily go back. Rooms are new and in very good shape, my bed was firm, which I like. Bathroom was new and very nice. I had a good night's sleep. The resort is huge and well kept. I had access to the Griffin Club, which had good options for breakfast and a good space for us to have a meeting. There was some construction around, but it seemed to be for a big Christmas event. Service was great across the board. Lots and lots of outdoor seating and pool areas, it wasn't busy when I was there, so didn't get much sense of the "scene." Overall a very nice place, once again, would happilt return.

I booked a sundeck suite for 5 nights at $ 1500 US per night. The website photo of the room and deck shows 2 outside lounger chairs. Unfortunately, none are on the deck. It's a beautiful and large deck but with no loungers. In trying to obtain 2 I've been completely stonewalled. Even though there are hundreds of lounge chairs on the property I can't get 2 for the deck I was promised there would be 2. I've dealt with 3 staff members who have told me everything from " most people book that room fir parties " to " I'm sorry, nothing can be done". It feels like I'm staying in a government run building, not a supposed top rate hotel. The attitude is something else. Like they are doing me a favor even letting me stay here. I'm here with my 4 year old son. We've stayed here before. How difficult is it to get 2 lounge chairs that I booked the room understanding they'd be here? It is, after all, a sundeck suite!

Stayed at the JW for the Dupree Dance Convention. Paid for the $50 1p early check in and was actually able to check in at 10am, which was extremelly helpful. Very clean and modern rooms, comfy beds, and strong AC. It's an extremely large property so walking from the guest room to the ballrooms for the dance event was about 8-10 mins each way so got lots of steps in. They have a gift store on site that has snacks and other items for sale at reasonable pricing. Had lunch at Meritage which was decent though a bit on the expensive side. Missed out on the pools, waterslides, and other resturant options as it was easier to Door Dash for kids needs. The ballroom/meeting room space was well organized and clean. Overall the event and the stay was top notch and would come here again, but hopefully get to enjoy the resort more next time.

I just stayed here for a conference and this hotel was fantastic! The multiple pools, water slide, outdoor fire pits, spa were all amazing! GAWI took the best care of everyone! He definitely made the stay better! What a wonderful happy staff. Loved staying here and will be returning with family for the next stay.

I've never written a review for any place that I have vacationed. First time at this resort. I have to say, both my wife and I were overly impressed. The accommodations were first class, but the staff was just over the top. There were a couple of people that REALLY stood out. We only asked for their first names. First, Jenny at the front desk. Super nice and super helpful. Jo, a waitress at 26, Drew and William/Mary Bill and Robin were in the Griffin Club and were just incredible. And, of course Zoe, a bartender at the Meritage was just awesome!! She couldn't have been any better! Very easy to talk to... just a great personality!! These employees really represented JW Marriot Desert Ridge impeccably. Thanks again for a memorable stay for my wife and myself.

My name is Carla Lorenzo, stayed in room 4411 September 27 - October 2nd Review of Outstanding Assistance from the Security Department – Blair and Phillip I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Security Department, especially Blair and Phillip, for their exceptional help in retrieving my backpack after I accidentally left it in my room upon checkout. I realized my bag was missing when I was already at the airport and immediately contacted the hotel. Blair took my call and quickly took charge of the situation. He and Phillip located my backpack, which contained my work laptop, and safely held it while I arranged for someone to pick it up and deliver it to me. When I informed Blair that a taxi driver named Hector—whom I didn’t personally know—would be collecting the bag on my behalf, he made sure to take every necessary precaution. They verified and documented the driver’s information, including his ID, license plate, and a photo of the vehicle. Blair even contacted me directly to confirm the bag’s release and promptly shared all the details in case any issues arose. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care gave me complete peace of mind during a very stressful moment. Blair and Phillip went above and beyond to ensure my belongings were handled securely and responsibly. Kudos to both of them for a job exceptionally well done! I truly hope they receive recognition for their outstanding service. Thanks to their efforts, I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful grounds, the hotel smells like smoke when you walk in and our room did as well, maybe from the restaurant. Dated
