Comfort Inn & Suites Rapid City near Mt Rushmore

Breakfast was good and associate was busy cleaning and replenishing food and coffee. Front desk personnel very nice, especially Shea, but all ineffective. My daughter called to see if we had checked in and was told they didn’t have our reservation but we had already checked in and had already gone out. You had to call the day before to get clean towels ( yes, I’m serious) and never ONCE in three days did I have clean towels without calling back down to the front desk to get them. Then your room is only cleaned on the 4th day (?) and that didn’t happen either. THEN when we checked out my $100 convenience fee (which was a surprise when we checked in) return couldn’t be explained and depended on the “bank” for our credit card so I had to check the credit card bank to find out…AND we couldn’t get our bill printed because the front desk printer was broken. Also when we initially checked in we got up to our room on the third floor (they were going to do their best to get us a first floor room) we didn’t have a shower curtain which again the front desk had to bring up. One of the front desk people had to install that as well. The last time they gave us towels I told the girl (didn’t get her name) that there would be trash by the elevator which was still there in the morning we checked out. Apparently the lack of housekeeping is because they only speak Spanish (so that’s why the housekeeping phone just rings and is never answered)and the front desk doesn’t speak Spanish. Lastly someone needs to train front desk on the message lights because they blink but no one knows how to retrieve the messages nor how to turn them off. Reply was that it’s a new system so they don’t know how it works and I may or may not have a message so am not sure. Still blinking when we checked out.

See above. Also, property is in a terribly congested and hard to find spot. Property itself was fine but amongst 20 other hotel properties.

The original room we were assigned had the toilet seat up and urine on the bowl. How could the room have been cleaned????? Very questionable about rooms being cleaned. Upon notifying the front desk, we were given a different room. The bathroom appeared to be cleaned; however, a strong burnt type smell was strong in the hallway and mildly in the room.
