The room was very big and comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. The shower was also very good with nice water pressure. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. It was a very basic American-style breakfast with limited options and not much quality.

Cleanliness could also be improved. The shower was not cleaned properly, and there was hair left on the wall when I arrived. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, except for one girl at the reception desk that I had to deal with twice -asking for a hair drier and during my checkout. She was unfriendly, always seemed to be in a bad mood, and provided terrible service that made me feel unwelcome. In my opinion, someone with that attitude should not be working in hotel reception.

absolutely nothing was bad

The location was great. Right in downtown New Orleans but away from the crazy spots. The breakfast was phenomenal as far as hotel breakfasts go.

As with most reasonably priced hotels, the bedding was lacking. Flat pillows, blankets that don’t quite cover 2 people fully in a queen-sized bed. I will also note that the pool seemed pretty dirty when we were there. I didn’t get in, but my sons told me there was a lot of hair at the bottom.

When we arrived at our room, we checked the room thoroughly for any issues. We found the kitchen sink leaking underneath and reported it immediately. They said they would have maintenance come up and repair it. We also found that there were no hooks in the bathroom to hang our towels while showering - there was a wall bracket for a hook, but no hook; and the back of the door had holes where a bracket usually is, but no hook. The shower rod was loose and already hanging, so we couldn't hang our towel at the far end of the rod while showering in fear the rod would fall off. It was really inconvenient to get out of the shower dripping wet and walk into the other area of the bathroom to get a towel to dry off. The bathroom sink hot water handle was extremely loose and we had to fiddle with it each time we used it to get it to shut off. And, both TVs had an annoying beeping sound every 2-3 minutes which made it unpleasant to watch. After confronting the front desk with these issues, we were told maintenance would come repair them the next day while we were out of the hotel (we were gone for a total of 8 hours). When we returned, nothing had been addressed. We told the evening front desk person that nothing was repaired, and she put in another work order. Third day, still nothing... The second day we wanted to go to the pool at 9:00 am when it opened, just to find out that the pool was closed due to water issues and wouldn't open until sometime later that day. We went to the pool on the third day, it was open but the water clarity was pretty murky - you couldn't even see the bottom of the pool in the shallow end. When we checked out, it voiced my concerns about not having anything fixed during our stay, and the front desk person said she was sorry because the maintenance request was issued. I asked if she would issue some compensation and she told me she couldn't do anything except put some extra points on my Hilton Awards... that didn't happen either. This hotel allows dogs, and two mornings in a row there was a dog on our floor barking and whining starting at 6:00 am. The only reason this review got at least one star is for the breakfast bar... food (and coffee) were good, and the breakfast staff were cordial and accommodating. Even though I am a Hilton Awards customer, I will not stay at this particular Homewood Suites at 901 Poydras Ave. again. Hilton usually does a great job, but this hotel is a big FAIL.

The one bedroom suite was a good size. Plenty of room for three adults. It had a full refrigerator, stove, and dishes.

The pull out couch was comfortable. But, once you pull it out there was not a lot of room to walk around the bed.

Everything was amazing!!

There wasn't anything I didn't like about the hotel itself, just the parking
