Home2 Suites By Hilton Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, FL

We enjoyed our stay. Bed comfort was good, but pillows could be better. The breakfast buffet needs some work, variety. Eggs seemed processed. Overall, the room is beautiful and the stay/location good! Convenient to everything!

We decided to begin our vacation a couple days early before our condo reservation began and stayed at the Home2Suites. The kitchenette & bathroom were very clean. There was an overwhelming musty/mildew smell in the room. The couch was dirty and sagging badly. The bed pillows were flat as pancakes and smelled like body odor. Thankfully we had brought our pillows from home. The bed was so uncomfortable I woke up sore and achy all over. The egg & meat options for breakfast sandwiches did not even look like real food. The waffle batter stuck to the waffle maker or didn’t cook in the middle and you couldn’t get a whole cooked waffle to come of the maker. We ended up skipping the hotel breakfast. This hotel would be a last choice for us moving forward. It cost more per night than the 2 bR/2BA oceanfront condo we had the remainder of our vacation. I also didn’t like that people were allowed to smoke at the pool area as that prevented us from using that amenity.

Home2Suites overcharged me by $379. I booked a 2 night stay for $429, only to look at my bank account and see that they charged me the $429, plus an additional $379 to total of $850 for two nights. They then proceeded to say that they don’t know how the other charge happened. Be aware they are fraudsters. Do not go there, not to mention the front desk workers lack customer service skills. They are not friendly at all.

I loved how friendly the staff was during the stay and all the features that came with the suite that we stayed in. It was like a small apartment! I also loved that they offered “clean” and “natural” foods as part of their breakfast. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and when we come again, I know where we will be staying!

The options were okay for the morning. The bed creaked and almost felt like it was going to break every time I entered. Internet access was quick. Room was clean.
