Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Oroville

My husband and I checked into our room that had just been cleaned to find a drug Needle and syringe with stuff still inside and a cockroach on the wall. We took video and photos of the issue and let the front desk know we had evidence and proof of this.

My stay was good. The woman at the counte4r started out rude, but eased up and was nice after we talked a little.

Very comfortable. Had small fridge, micro, coffee pot single serve.

This property only has the basic necessities, very out dated but one of the only pet friendly places in the area.

Bathroom not cleaned good enough, window curtains torn ,walls were dirty, some weird people haning around,bedspreads we're old

Check-in was easy, fast, and pleasant. The room was massive. The TV was nice and big and the heater worked well. There were hangers in the closet and a functioning refrigerator. The biggest complaint - they need to replace all of their linens and bedding. It would make a world of difference. The towels were thin and way overused. The blanket on the bed appeared to have been around since the 70s. The comforter too. It felt dirty to be in it for its clear signs of aging.

We literally had someone trying to break into our room from the adjoining room. Kicking and beating on the door. When we called the desk we were told to, "Yell through the door and tell them to stop.". REALLY? Also had homeless people setting off our car alarm with again no help from the desk. We left the next day. This place was misrepresented on Expedia. It not only has no free breakfast, it has no lobby. It was closed off when the motel was sold. We were told by the manager the next day (when we were leaving) that the property "really went downhill" when it changed hands, was now privately owned, and was no longer affiliated with Americas Best Value Inns. She also apologized for the overnight clerk not calling the police the night before because, and I quote here, "they have a special deal with them because of all of the problems at this motel now.". DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Will not choose this motel again. It has good potential, rooms are large, good location in town. The downside is the property is very rundown. Needs some TLC in way of paint, flooring, deep clean. I brought my own pillow/sheets, I did not use the shower. I would have asked for a refund/rebooking if I was not so tired and time was an issue. I am sure like most businesses these days they are short staffed so I did not make a fuss. It was a disappointment.

Check in took over an hour. Even self check in was 40 mins. 3 pm in checkin but they wanted to charge us $40 for early checkin. ((It was 2:54 when we first tried)) there where only 3 employees checking in people.

The hotel is very rundown both inside and out. The rooms need a lot of updating fixing and remodeling. I did not feel safe or comfortable. Lots of trash in the parking lot, and many people just walking around and or knocking on doors. Two nights somebody knocked on my door around one in the morning looking for somebody.
