Super 8 by Wyndham Newburgh/West Point Stewart Intl Airport

Honestly, not much. It’s true that it’s close to the airport, but the place is so extremely dirty that no traveler would want to spend the night there.

The hotel was very dirty, especially the room. There was no proper breakfast as advertised — at 8 a.m., only a few coffees and snacks were left. When I asked for yogurt, they told me it was gone. No biscuits, no decent food options. Even the juice was in a dirty bottle. Overall, a very bad experience.

Not a positive thought comes to mind regarding my experience with Super 8 by Wyndham in Newburgh, New York. Mildly amused that a property of this condition is up and running, and more than that, has patrons.

Booked in advance, was not accommodated for a first-floor room. Instead, I was greeted with three flights of stairs. Foul smell throughout the property. The room was not cleaned, and grime covered just about every surface. Curtains in the bathroom had mold. The AC/Heater unit was foul. The refrigerator was rusted? Worst of all the building has an apparent roach infestation. Disgusting. Foul. Dirty. When I think of an inexpensive hotel, I think about less amenities. Roaches, grime, rust, and mold do not come to mind. But if you have a fervor for experiencing all walks of life, the Roach Motel in Newburgh, NY has just what you're looking for. Alongside being absolutely rancid and a public health hazard it also made the news this past September. Front staff was efficient and well-meaning. The bed was decent.

Room was ok, bed was ok, but the bathroom had black mold and a leak. Floor corners were stained and dirty. Tv never worked. The hallway carpets and ceiling were stained and bulged. Lobby area was very low end.
