We recently celebrated our anniversary at VR Rotorua Lake Resort, and what an incredible experience it was. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. Nestled on the beautiful shores of Lake Rotoiti, the resort offers breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and a relaxing escape from everyday life. Waking up to the lake and enjoying the serenity of Okawa Bay was simply magical. Our room was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well-appointed. The welcome basket and beautiful floral arrangement waiting for us were such thoughtful touches that made our anniversary feel extra special. The resort grounds are stunning, with immaculate lawns, waterfront views, and plenty of activities to enjoy, including kayaking and tennis. Every corner of the property showcases the natural beauty Rotorua is famous for. Breakfast each morning was outstanding, with an impressive selection of hot cooked options, fresh fruit, cereals, juices, and excellent coffee. We also enjoyed the dining experience at The Grill, where both the food and service exceeded our expectations. What truly sets this resort apart is its exceptional staff. A special thank you to Vibha and Suditi for going above and beyond to make our anniversary memorable. Your kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care did not go unnoticed and made us feel incredibly valued throughout our stay. If you're looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat with beautiful views, comfortable accommodation, fantastic food, and outstanding customer service, we highly recommend VR Rotorua Lake Resort. Breakfast was really good, location was great.

Sauna takes awhile to get heated

Location was fantastic. Was on the quiet side of town but still within driving distance of all the fun activities. Staff were exceptional and the food at the restaurant was fantastic.

Room had a bit of a smell from being closed up so we had to open all the doors and windows to air it out. Other than that it was lovely!

Location and clean

The breakfast was a letdown. The staff did everything however some of warming stations for the breakfast Just weren’t heating resulting in a cold breakfast. Not trim milk which I thought was a basic ask. Definitely for some room for improvement on the buffet breakfast.

It had a very pleasant view. The suite was very comfortable with good facilities. The manager on reception when I arrived was very supportive of my concerns re sulphur allergy. He also assured me the hotel doesn't get a sulphur smell. He was correct. There is no sulphur smell.
