Beautiful room and excellent restaurant. Staff was kind, thoughtful and thorough.

I wish I had cancelled my 3-night reservation! I too booked a plaza view suite. They put me in 101 a two-room suite adjoining my son's room 102. Both with a ground level view. Very dated and tight bedrooms, with long wait times for hot water in the shower and during the mornings you ran out of hot water. To make matters if the noise outside wasn't bad enough, the restaurant and lounge was RIGHT below you. The coffee maker made more coffee than the hotel provided mugs could hold..."fill to here". The entire hotel is dump! I moved my reservation to this hotel after the Marriot Residence Inn said ALL their elevators were broken. My name is Francis X. The elevators are very small.

Staff was fantastic, The Chaz was excellent and delicious. Beds were great.

When it opened in 1928, the Raphael was a block of luxury apartments. In 1974, the J.C. Nichols Company purchased the Italian Renaissance Revival style structure, remodeled and re-opened the nine-story, 126-room as one of Kansas City's most sophisticated and luxurious hotels in 1975. Located at 325 Ward Parkway, across the street from Country Club Plaza, it was designed to complement the Spanish architecture that the adjacent shopping mall had developed in the early 1920s. The property is patterned after small European hotels, has been a member of the Histori Hotels of America since 2001 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. It also has earned the distinguished Four Diamond award from AAA and Four Star rating from Forbes. In 2020, it was recognized as the "Best Historic Hotel" in the United States. And it only got better in 2017 when it opened its signature restaurant, Chaz on the Plaza. The Raphael also features a fitness center, bar, concierge, private parking, even free bicycles. I reserved a King Room with a Plaza View, king-sized bed, free wi-fi, TV, work desk, room service, tea/coffee maker, private bathroom, tub and shower.

What a lovely hotel! We stayed three nights and the staff was always courteous and professional. We were not prepared for the snow and freezing weather that surprised the city and the staff even found hand warmers for us. Beautiful room and lovely breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood, close to many restaurants.

This was a single night stay, but thoroughly enjoyable! The building is beautifully restored. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service for both meals terrific. We want to come back and spend some time exploring the Plaza area. A little thing that really impressed us - there were 2 luggage racks in the closet!! We rarely find this to be true. Kuddos!!

Lovely room with plaza view. Extras: 2 suitcase racks, fresh cookies and live music in beautiful bar. Quiet , restful night. Slept late without a sound of disturbance. Across street is Capitol Grill.
