White Sands Hotel

The property is a cool hotel, clean and tidy and also really central so easy to get to the shops of Honolulu.

Main issue was lack of staff on check in, took a while to be tended too, also the hotel doesn’t make it super clear that there’s no lift so if you’re on the second or third floor you need to carry your suitcases up the stairs, additionally in my room neither the bed side lamp worked and the TV didn’t connect so ammenities were frustrating. Lastly there were a lot of kids playing in the pool which is fine, but this is went on pretty late into the night with no let up so lots of screaming and shouting. If you’re looking for somewhat quiet this might not be the best.

Location is great. The reception folks were so polite and friendly. We really appreciated a chance to rent (for free) the sun chairs and small surf boards to go to the beach. The bar is nice

Paid valet parking. We stayed for 4 nights and nobody came to clean the room (even when we asked). The interior design of the room is very outdated, needs refurbishment. The sound isolation is so bad, that i could clearly hear how neighbours were talking. Bathroom needs renovation as well. On pictures it looks much better. There is no elevator (in case you have heavy luggage)

Can't understand all the great reviews. Overall, the hotel needed a good clean but we specifically asked 2 different reception staff to have the floor of our room cleaned and it never was. Room wasn't serviced during our 3-night stay. Another guest was assigned our room and came right through the door unexpectedly. Noise at night from the bar right under our window. Confusion from us and staff as to what was included in the food/drink credit. Internet would drop out when simply browsing. Incorrect final amount taken and had to ask for a refund which I'm told is coming. Good location.

Great location and such a cool vibe the hotel had. There is a great bar with a fantastic happy hour. We loved our stay. Easy to walk to anywhere you want too in Waikiki.

The floor in the room was filthy I wipe it with a face washer and it was black.

Mayggan at front desk is,awesome- I checked in after a long international flight. She immediately gave a calming yet friendly presence. Room was great, bed and sheets were comfortable. Location is good.

We stayed 3 nights at The Whites Sands during our time in Waikiki. The location was perfect, walking distance to dining and shopping. The staff was so friendly and helpful during our stay, RJ, Kendall, and Maygar to name a few! We spent a lot of time in the pool and at the pool bar. We loved the retro Hawaii style of the hotel and the rooms. Our bed was comfy and the room was clean. We had a pool view room and while the bar and pool could get a little loud at night, they closed at 10 so we had no trouble sleeping. We would definitely stay here again!
