Property Notes

According to Article 481, section d) of the Tax Statute, accommodation services are exempt from VAT (0%) only for persons residing abroad, provided that the legal requirements are met. The exemption applies to foreign nationals not residing in Colombia and Colombian nationals residing abroad who can prove such status. To make the exemption effective, the following requirements must be met at check-in: present a valid passport with the entry stamp to Colombia; in the case of Colombian nationals residing abroad, present a valid document certifying residence outside the country (residence visa, consular certificate, or equivalent document); and request that the invoice be issued in the guest’s name. If the required documentation is not presented, accommodation will be subject to the applicable VAT rate of 19%. The hotel insurance is optional and has a cost of COP 5,000 per person, per night. VAT will be added to this amount, provided that the guest’s tax exemption does not apply. Breakfast is served daily from 06:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Room Service is available Monday to Friday from 07:00 AM to 10:00 PM. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, service operates from 07:00 AM to 09:00 PM. Due to the architecture and design of our hotel, rooms within the same category may vary in layout, decoration, or view. "Comfortable home away from home"

Very attentive and approachable staff. Breakfast area personnel are top notch. Breakfast is ample and aming the best in Bogotá in terms of selection. Rooms feel cozy and, unlike other hotels in the area, are not sterile.

There is no courtesy water bottle in the room. Minibar is not stocked. There is no nearby supermarket. The entrance has stairs to the reception with no ramp.

"A Joyful Stay"

What a joy this place is! Hotel Porton is an elegant boutique hotel. The main floor is gorgeous and filled with fragrant flowers, beautiful furniture and art, and a lovely fireplace. A separate bar and restaurant adjoin the main floor, and we really enjoyed both. The gruyere mushrooms, Argentinian steak, chocolate lava cake, Malbec wine, and cocktails were our favorites. Our room was also cheerful with a very nice view. Service is top notch, and the staff would do anything to help us. Even before we arrived, the front desk answered our questions promptly. They arranged our round trip transportation between the airport and the hotel as well as transportation to and from other locations in the city and the hotel. They were friendly and kind throughout our stay. They even came to our room on our last night and wrapped up paintings we had purchased so that we could safely pack them in our luggage. The bar and restaurant staff were similarly accommodating and treated us like family. Every night they ensured that we had sanitized bottled water needed for medical equipment. The maid service is no different. They graciously followed our specific directions. The hotel is in a lovely neighborhood, and within distance of great shopping and eating. It was a terrific experience!
