The cottage was comfortable had all amenities needed. The cottage has kept original features such as beams etc .

Due to the age of property the ladder stair to the bedroom is very steep which would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues . Very small courtyard to the rear at our particular booking .

We found it pretty grubby to be perfectly honest. Had an infestation of ants when we arrived too which was pretty unpleasant .

I read cleaner only if longer stay - I tidy up after myself but didn’t like someone had taken all my things and piled in the lounge- terrible stairs- noise from neighbours dog and chatting all night

Being independent. The charm of the cottage and the imaginative renovation. The helpfulness of the host when I did have contact with him. The well appointed kitchen. The cleanliness of the place on arrival, the plentiful supply of towels, cleaning equipment etc. and the charm, courtesy and helpfulness of the young woman who maintained those high standards.

There were aspects of the cottage which were not suitable for an eighty-five year old woman with some mobility problems. The staircase to the bedroom was steep and of an awkward design and had to be negotiated with great care and preferably empty-handed. The host did warn me about this when I phoned him a day or two before my arrival; but by that time it was too late to reconsider. This detail should have been included in the original description of the property. I managed, but I might not have done. The cottage could have been warmer, given the unseasonable damp and cold of the spring/summer.

Needed a pair of scissors and they were in the kitchen drawer. It was like home from home with everything we needed, unlike a hotel room. Great atmosphere in the accommodation, quiet, little garden at the back. Excellent walking distance to the center of Thetford. Would go there again.

Both being 75 years old, the steep, unusual stairs were a bit of a challenge. But we managed and enjoyed the unusual spaces. Was an experience staying in such an old accommodation but with all the modern requirements.

Access to loft bedroom was far worse than expected. Ended up sleeping on floor downstairs. Ants in lounge coming from window area. Appreciate that tea/coffee mile sachets and biscuits left however milk was off and biscuits stale and soft

There was a hose in the backyard so I could wash my bike. The shower was very good, in fact the whole bathroom was good except the toilet seat was not totally secure

It was 'unseasonably cold' as admitted by the host but the heating had not been switched on. I messaged the host and he admitted that during the summer the heating is switched off. He was very amiable and switched it on for us. (he could do this remotely without having to visit the property) however we noticed that at 10pm the thermostat (visible on the wall) setting had dropped to 14.5deg. I did ring the host and was told it would be increased. That never happened. I did receive a message from the host but we had already gone to bed. The stairs to the bedroom are, in my opinion, dangerously steep and a visit to the bathroom during the night means you have to negotiate them in the dark as the bathroom is down stairs. There is very little headroom above the sides of the bed as it is a pitched roof. Sitting on the sofa is like sitting on the floor, except you are not expecting it the first time. There are no springs and the cushions disappear into the frame of the sofa. Needless to say it is very difficult to get up from. I only used it once. According to the written info provided by the host the rear Garden/patio is supposed to be maintained by a gardener but I doubt its seen one for months. It is overgrown with brambles!!!!
