"Historic lodge in great location"

8.0

Staying at the Ski Tip Lodge is like going back in time amid stunning scenery. The log style building is wonderful, with fireplaces and comfy furniture, and a beautiful patio. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is exceptional. Don't miss dinner at the Ski Tip! Breakfast is included and is very good with nice fruit and choice of hot freshly cooked food. The only things to be aware of are that the rooms are comfortable but spare, no frills. No coffee maker, no phone or TV, nothing special in the bathroom, no water or ice (unless you ask downstairs in advance), no desk, no pen or paper. So bring what you will need and settle in for a cozy and welcoming stay.

"Wonderful B & B with great personal service."

10.0

The building is old but well kept. Guest rooms are small but recently remodeled. The small guest rooms are more then made up for by the warm and wonderful lobby and bar area with big stone fireplaces and overstuffed furniture. What my wife and I really like after a long day of skiing or hiking. The breakfast menu is short and very tasty. Dinner is gourmet, the resturant is one of the top 100 in the US, wonderful but can be pricey.

"Cozy mountain lodge as it should be"

10.0

We had only a couple of nights for a honeymoon and are very glad we chose Ski Tip. Traditional charm from its origins as a stage coach stop. First class dining. Good conversation with fellow guests. Friendliest and most competent staff I have seen for a long time.

"Quiet small lodge for friends' retreat"

10.0

We booked three rooms on a Tuesday night in August; turned out to be the only guests. We (and others) enjoyed the four-course dinner. It was beautifully conceived of fresh local ingredients. Everything was delicious and service was very gracious. We were allowed to linger and visit. Ample breakfast (included) next morning. This lodge is very popular for weddings, so it was lucky we chose a week night for our stay. Lodge is historic, and its ten rooms are cozy with all amenities except no TV or phones, so it is a real vacation! Highly recommend for adults-only retreat.

"Room tiny and overpriced"

4.0

The area around the lodge is beautiful, but the accommodations were mediocre at best. Staff very nice, but not that knowledgeable about activities in this tourist area. The room was about 110 square feet with no place to hang up our clothing. The restaurant was very expensive price fixed, and the food was overfilled with badly contrasting flavors. 6.4% surcharge on the meal with no explanation. Also $16 resort fee per night with really no extra facilities available. Would not bother to go again.

"Interesting Find"

8.0

the Ski Tip Lodge was a nice experience for my hubby and I. It was a good value for what we paid on Expedia. The room we had was extremely small, so that was a drawback. Don't think I'd want to stay in this small of a room again. They do provide larger rooms, so I'd prefer one of those. The breakfast they provided with the room rate was delicious! Everyday! The service was excellent and this is what put this small hotel in the 3.5 and above category for us! Everyone we dealt with, Mercedes and Linda, were terrific! We had dinner in their dining room one night of our stay and the wait staff, particularly, Todd and our sommelier were wonderful! I can't say enough good things about the staff. They all went above and beyond trying to make our stay memorable. I love running across places like this in our travel adventures! We would never have known about this place had it not been for me booking this on Expedia. I would suggest to them maybe doing a little more advertising, or maybe they don't need to?! They may have enough returning regulars that they don't need to advertise. It would be a place I'd go back to but would get a larger room :-))
