Avoca Hotel

Lovely room with cracking view of the see. Parking very close and not far from town centre. Welcoming and friendly staff and good breakfast. Only thing I would mention was lack of storage in the room but we managed. Would stay again.

It's very cosy, it's near shops, good views fronting the beach and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. We also enjoyed the breakfast.

The room was very cosy although i find it to be a little warm for me, i think we couldn't adjust the setting but we just opened the window for some air to help me sleep but other than that, everything was good.

No beach view.

We had a wedding in Newcastle and decided to stay in the Avoca that night. I rang in advance to see if we could perhaps get an early check in to suit the early wedding and this was accommodated no problem. The hotel itself lovely and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful also. If we’re back that way again we’ll definitely stay again.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, professional environment, think twice. The hotel may look stunning and the location is beautiful, but the atmosphere was spoiled by aggressive staff arguing right in front of guests. One blonde staff member was left visibly upset, and it made the whole situation very uncomfortable. This is not the standard I expect from a hotel claiming to offer a luxury experience. Management seriously needs to address staff conduct before more guests leave feeling as disappointed as I did.

Great views of the sea. The fish & chips is beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is piping hot it's definitely the best fry up I've had at a hotel. The staff are so friendly & helpful. The hotel has a very relaxed vibe. The wild hare bar is brilliant, there's live music on at night & the cocktails are delicious.

Clean room and beach view

A lovely 2 night stay at this very convenient hotel on Newcastle Main Street. Great view of the sea from the family room on the 1st floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was lovely including breakfast and with parking just round the corner it was a great location.
