"Another wonderful stay"

10.0

This is my 4th stay at Ballygally and as usual we really enjoyed the stay. Greeted by Patrick and served a delicious Jawbox G&T in the bar we were nestled in a suite overlooking the ocean. Only 40 minutes from Belfast Ballygally makes for the perfect romantic getaway. We had dinner in their wonderful restaurant and just chilled the night away. Thank you team BG! You made us very welcome

"Amazing night at Ballygally Castle!"

10.0

Had an amazing trip up to Ballygally Castle with my family for a birthday celebration. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the staff were very welcoming throughout our stay. Decided to have dinner in the bar beside the roaring fire. The burger tasted great and my wife said it was the best espresso martini she had ever had. The room was perfect for a family stay and well decorated and our daughter was brave enough to climb up to the Ghost Room! Had a gorgeous breakfast and a walk on the beach before heading home.

"Family stay at the Ballygally"

10.0

Recently had a lovely stay at the Ballygally as a family. The hotel was decorated with festive trees and decorations. The family room was spacious and clean. All the staff were so friendly and great with the kids, nothing was too much trouble. We had some food in the bar which was lovely and breakfast in the morning had everything you needed. Such a wonderful stay. Thank you to all the team

"Wedding day review"

10.0

My husband and I had our wedding here in September 2025 and it was the best day from start to finish! The attention to detail from our wedding coordinator Norma she put us completely at ease the whole day and went above and beyond. From our first meeting right through we knew we had made the right choice at this beautiful hotel. We had our ceremony out in the Belvedere Suite which is a hidden gem. On the day it was pouring down and Ballygally Castle (Norma and staff) walked us down 1 by 1 to make sure our dresses hair and make up weren’t ruined. The food was delicious, all being served within a small window and warm and fresh. Every guest had great things to say about their 3 course dinner. The transition from dinner to the night time party was seamless and a very quick turnaround. Scott the manager, Norma the wedding coordinator and the rest of the team all go above and beyond to make sure we had the best day ever. 😊 If you’re thinking of here as your wedding venue you will not be disappointed, with gorgeous beaches just a 2 second walk and the beautiful gardens this is the most stunning venue. So thank you Scott, Norma and team for everything you done to make our day special, we’ll be forever grateful x

"Historic Hideaway!"

10.0

Close to Belfast City but a world apart, I enjoyed another stay in a Coastal Deluxe Room. The room was superb and a delight looking out at the sea across Ballygally Bay and hearing the waves. The bed linen and pillows were luxurious, thank you! This historic castle/hotel is enchanting, positioned overlooking the bay, surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens with a river meandering through the grounds. Reported to have three ghosts, one of them Lady Isabella who has been present for four hundred years! I will say little more, walk up the stone steps in the tower and discover for yourself. Feeling relaxed and comfortable in my room I opted for room service this time. An Irish brie and pear chutney wrap with truffle parmesan fries, and a glass of Ballygally Castles lager which was perfect for me that evening. Breakfast was delicious with a broad selection of tasty local produce. I decided on a tasting menu and enjoyed many treats over several courses! Special mention and my gratitude to Ann for your warm welcome and looking after me during breakfast. The Ballygally Castle Hotel is certainly one on my favourite hotels in Northern Ireland. I plan to return soon and looking forward to it. Thank you!

"Not a pleasant checkin"

6.0

We have used this hotel on numerous times over the last 30 years, and my brother even had his reception here. But we only stayed here for the first time last year. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked again for this year. Sadly this year things weren't as we would have liked, and it all started at check in. I don't like writing a bad review, as it reflects so badly on the hotel and all of the staff, but its a fundamental issue about your first impressions of a hotel. On checking in, myself and my friends didn't feel very welcomed. Maybe it was because we were a large group. We are a group of 10 ladies and we had booked 4 number rooms. The older receptionist never made eye contact, smiled, and didn't make any sort of polite conversation, even when we were trying to make conversation with her. I was embarrassed and felt awkward and very uncomfortable. The hotel itself is lovely, and we found the rest of the staff welcoming, but our first impressions for all of us, weren't good! Rooms are good, but we had a wheelchair accessible room, which I think we should have been made aware of. Apart from that we had a nice sea view and the toiletries are lovely. But the rooms are very very hot even with the window open. There was a fan in the wardrobe, but it was too awkward to put this in the middle of the night. We all ate in the Garden room that evening, and the food was absolutely amazing. Our whole group raved about the quality and service. But the next morning breakfast was OK but no comparison to the food we had the previous night. Everything was kept in heated serving dishes and wasnt freshly made and I just felt it was all a little greasy. On the whole the hotel is lovely and the rest of the staff were faultless and so helpful, but sadly this initial encounter ruined our overall thoughts about the hotel, and maybe made us a little too critical on other things, and on reflection, we would be reluctant to stay here again

"Amazing Castle Stay Experience"

10.0

My husband and I enjoyed a one-night stay at this lovely, historic castle. We stayed in the original castle, which was an incredible experience. The rooms have been updated accordingly, but our room was still charming and incorporated some unique elements! The hotel staff was inviting and friendly, as we experienced afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast while staying at Ballycastle. It's a great location if you're traveling along the Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland. Also, the grounds are charming - with a creek flowing through the property and lush flowers/greens. A beautiful location for a wedding or other celebration!
