"Highly recommend"

10.0

Stayed here for two nights and it's such a gem. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights as we thought the prices were very good for a hotel of this calibre. The room was massive and had everything we needed. Such a relaxing stay. Highly recommend.

"Excellent stay; exceptional breakfast."

10.0

All aspects of our stay were exceptional. This is a cosy, clean and comfortable hotel. The room was spacious, the towels were fluffy, the water warm and the shower easy to operate. The buffet breakfast, which comprises the best of locally sourced produce was possibly the best I have ever experienced. Try everything...including the porridge which comes with a choice of whisky, honey and cream.

"Great staff, great food, great location"

10.0

Place was excellent to start off, first off we got visited by the good Reception person that was there, afterwards we met Danny at the bar he was excellent. We had food there. Afterwards we headed to our room and it was great. It had a TV. It had a bathroom. It had three beds. It was an excellent room. This place. I would recommend if you’re a good guy – woman it’s a really great place. I would recommend going. Reviewed by Oisín (age 10)

"Cosy Autumn Stay"

10.0

Cosy country stay. The hotel is old school luxury. Right beside the Irish Sea. Open fires, organic local produce (and lots of it) and plenty of tea. It was decorated for fall/ Halloween and was lovely and busy. Really lovely autumnal overnight break for Mum & daughter.

"Great rooms, some with stunning views of the water"

8.0

Large room, most reasonable temperature we encountered in Ireland in the room, very comfortable king sized bed. Rooms were quiet. Still opened the windows in October to make sure the room stayed cool all night. The bathroom was huge but had NO counter space. Very peaceful, the gardens are lovely, restaurant also very good with very friendly servers. Highly recommend staying here.

"19/25 Best Hotels… HOW?"

2.0

So you read that the hotel is delighted to share that it has been named among the top 25 hotels in the UK, placing 19th in Tripadvisor’s prestigious 25th Anniversary Travellers’ Choice Awards – Best of the Best. Decided exclusively by travellers. A honour that placed them - in our corner of the Antrim Coast – among the top 1% of hotels worldwide. So you choose it as a destination for a 30th wedding meal and stay. You expect four star treatment at least. Right? Unfortunately not. Not that the staff ( all three of them) were to blame for a full restaurant. They were clearly trying, just too much for them. No apparent experience managing the situation. Table seated at 20:15. (Earliest reservation time available) Drinks order not taken until 20:45. Simple glass of wine and pint of Guinness that took 30 minutes to be served. Dinner order not taken until 40 minutes (20:55) after being seated despite asking the waitress who took the drinks order - apparently she can only take drink orders??? Starter served BEFORE drinks at 21:00. (Drinks arrived at 21::15). Starters were good, but should it take that long for the drinks? An hour after being seated to get a drink? I could have left the restaurant walked to the bar and ordered the drinks myself quicker from the hotel bar! Main meal finally turned up at 21:20. Just to put in perspective. Couple on the table next to us arrived 5 minutes before us and had their meal and were finished and gone by 21:25. Another table left BEFORE desserts were brought out (set menu?) The sirloin steak was ok. Nothing special. Did get apologies from the 3 staff members on duty who were made aware of our frustrations. Drinks were offered as complimentary after our verbal complaints. Which was appreciated but the point of this feedback is to highlight to hotel management that this is simply not good enough. Chose not to order dessert or tea/ coffee. Quicker to make it in our room. And the real kicker for the hotel? Before dinner we found out we had NO hot water in our room. Reported. Offered another room. No hot water in that either… ultimately told that they were sourcing an engineer. Not a great experience all round unfortunately.

"Slightly disappointing stay at Ballygally Castle but overall not bad.."

8.0

Myself and my finacee enjoyed an overnight stay at the Ballygally Castle Hotel. This was our first time staying in the establishment and where visiting also as part of their Wedding Fair. The check-in process was slow as there seemed to be a lack of staff on the counter. Our room looked lovely but there were a few issues we spotted, towel holder was loose beside the sink, shower panel was at an angle and not straight against the wall and we also noticed a large cobweb from the radiator to the curtain. We dined in the Garden restaurant, our Main Course (which tasted lovely) seemed to take a long time to arrive - approx 25 mins of a wait between ordering and the food being on the table. Breakfast did not excite us - selection seemed to be a bit poor plus lack of front of house staff to check guests in and to replenish food which had ran out. Overall though the building and grounds are lovely, staff are very friendly and location is 100%

"Amazing Once Again! Best Staff Hands Down"

10.0

This is my 3rd visit to Ballygally Castle and it’s once again a 5 out of 5! This place is class and I will continue to come back. The staff is absolutely wonderful. No, incredible. Krista was such a lovey lady. Don’t get me started on Mark- he went above and beyond for me and cannot express how much I appreciate the kindness and ice pack with crisps. These things just add to why I love it here. I also had the Game of Thrones tea again and that was just as fantastic as before. The food is wonderful, but the staff make the place. Your kindness doesn’t show in this post but know I have grateful tears in my eyes as I type this. A Million Thanks. Tayto’s and Mrs. Browns Boys with a view of the sea, what could be better!

"Comfortable stay"

Enjoyed our stay at Ballygally Castle. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, if a little bit warm. Happily, a fan was supplied which helped. Great meals in the restaurant.

"Good"

6.0

we stayed here a good number of years ago and really enjoyed our stay and as it was our 25th wedding anniversary we just wanted a quiet get away. The Staff are Great and the Hotel its self was peaceful. However the Quality of the food is honestly mediocre at best. As it was our wedding anniversary my wife didn't want me making a fuss. The Batter of the fish was undercooked and full of oil making it inedible. The Pepper chick had very little pepper, the Supreme was dry and obviously pre cooked and reheated, the roast potatoes were also reheated, leaving them dry and leather like. The young lady who served us did notice my wife had ate very little and did reimburse us for our soft drinks. As a result of the food we decided not to have desert or breakfast. Due to the Restaurant experience we will not return again to Ballygally Castle.
