"not for foreigners"

6.0

this is a nice hotel on a beautiful beach the food is normal Mexican fair good days bad days. the itallian restaurant served cold food, the Mexican rest. was pretty good and the arrefarcie was good/bad depended on what you ordered. great weather of course- no venders on the beach now having said that, it is totally dedicated to the Mexican people which is ok but if you are not. you don't really get good service they tend to ignore you the hotel is very isolated and offers no out side excursions so if you like to go to the country side or go into town it is expensive to taxi around. and you have to taxi as the hotel is 3 miles from hyway 200 no public transport. 40 mins from the nearest town. we did go snorkling with the aquatic contractor there and the captain was very careless with us and swamped the boat in the surf and we just about got drowned. My key floated out of my purse and they found it, never told me but the hotel was quick to tell me that it would be the cost of $75US to replace and I had 2 keys, not very good communication. the bugs are pretty bad here so bring lots of bug dope if plan to be on the beach. one night we had sewer gas in our room so bad that my guy was so sick I was pretty sure we were leaving in an ambulance the next day. so there you go there is good and bad here if you like isolation go for it if you don't ,go some where else in the neighbourhood there are other hotels on this bay more connected

"secluded beach"

8.0

Secluded beach so no beach vendors. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Arrived on a Monday and checked out the following Monday. We requested and stayed in one of the quieter rooms facing the tennis courts. Most of the week they were not at full capacity so no real line ups at the buffet or any of the bars. Had a couple opportunities to visit the al a carte restaurant up on the hill which has a very lovely ambiance and great food. The buffet was varied and there was a section to cook a fresh breakfast and lunch. One night the entire buffet was moved to the outdoor entertainment area on the other side of the tennis courts which was a nice touch and no small effort. Friday saw a few tourist buses unload all sorts of nationals most with families, which changed the complexion of the resort and the line ups grew a little longer but a few more staff were there to handle this so not a great inconvenience. It seemed to me that everybody was relaxed and having a good time with the children playing all over the place which we didn't mind but some people may not be able to tolerate. On Saturday afternoon some of the baby turtles started to come out of their nests so as a crowd gathered, mostly children, we were all able to participate in the turtle release. These buses were back on Sunday and all the families piled on which returned the resort to the semi quiet that we had experienced when we first arrived. All in all a relaxing week which has created some good memories.

"Hidden resort"

8.0

We stayed in Los Angeles Locos in January 2017. We did not expected much, it was listed as 3 star hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel is good, the room we had, was a suite with gorgeous view of the ocean and huge terace. Food was typical Mexican menu, but very tasty. Staff was wonderful, so were the mostly Mexican guests. The beach is very wide, good to walk on, and swimming was also good. It is a Pacific, so the color is not as you would have at the Caribbean sea, but the mountain views make-up for the lack of color. The only down site of the place was occasionally smelly hallways (sewer smell). We were sorry we could not stay longer - our vacation was cut by management from 7 to 5 nights (for some private celebration). It is quiet place, perfect for family with children. there is not much going on at night. It is approx. 45 min. from Manzanillo airport (very curvy road, don't go at night, it is dangerous driving).

"Awful place... go to Vallarta instead."

4.0

Awful customer service... I had to wait 1 hour to check in... they couldn't find my reservation. No wifi... and when you go to lobby more pages are blocked online. I went to ask about it and they told me to go back tomorrow their internet person left for the day. The clients are pretty ghetto.... awful experience.

"Noise!"

6.0

If you enjoy loud music with heavy bass from 9am to 3am in the morning, children screaming in the middle of the night, waiting in line to reserve dinner in a restaurant that serves undrinkable wine, then this is the place for you! The hotel doesn't seem to care for the majority of guests who don't attend the weddings organized under their balconies on the beach! Too bad for a wonderful location and beautiful beach and outstanding staff! The guards are constantly patrolling you for your little blue dog tag and sometimes are overly suspicious.

"Loved the beach"

6.0

This is a place for Mexican families. If you love Tenacatita beach like we do it's a wonderful place. We paid about $100 a night for an ocean view room with meals and drinks. We will go back but it may not be what many Americans would like.
