Fantastic building with fantastic staff

Beautiful Hotel, needs some TLC in some areas but nothing life-shattering

This was a perfect hotel for our first trip to Mexico City. It was conveniently located within walking distance to many sites and attractions. The hotel is very charming old Mexico, however, much of the furniture needs to be replaced as it is worn and very dated. We had a Jr. Suite in the middle of the hotel and the room was very quiet. Bed was very comfortable except for the carved wooden headboard. The in-house restaurant, Buenos Dios, was a great spot to start our day.

Property and staff were great. We lost a phone in the lobby and they found and kept I for use until we returned. Very grateful.

The hotel is full of history and overall very nice. Upon arrival we noticed a strong smell of cigarette in the room. We called the front desk who indicated that the hotel was non-smoking and therefore, the smell was not of cigarette. The unpleasant smell in the room didn't go away during our 4-day stay. One day before checking out, we noticed that there was cigarette ash on the windows. We also found a bunch of cigarette stubs on the ground outside of the window. We reported this issue twice again and showed the pictures to the front desk staff. I believe the hotel could take additional care with regards to people smoking inside the rooms.

The Geneve hotel in Mexico City provided a safe and comfortable place to stay during our travel there. This is a place with history and the staff was always there to help with our questions. The property has several restaurants and a nice bar with live music. Hotel Geneve is located in a great neighborhood with many businesses to shop around. I recommend this hotel, and I will book again in the future.

I had a truly wonderful experience staying at this hotel, which is full of history and vintage charm. The location is incredibly convenient — within walking distance to great restaurants, museums, and cultural spots. Having a police station right outside also made it feel extra safe and secure. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I travel often (about twice a month), but this stay stood out thanks to the exceptional service from the concierge, Ariel. He went above and beyond — thoughtfully organizing my daily schedule based on my preferences, arranging a personal driver, and even making sure dinner was waiting in my suite after long days out. Everything was smooth, professional, and heartfelt — it truly felt like staying with family. I was actually sad to leave. Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay. I’ll absolutely be coming back!
