Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern

The Mandarin Oriental Palace hotel in Luzern is outstanding in all ways. The building itself is beautiful and dates back to 1906. Inside everything is renovated beautifully and to the highest standards. Location could not be better, right on the lake and a short 10 minute leisurely stroll to the city center. Recognition as a FMO Jade Member was outstanding. Our Lake View Suite on the fifth floor was breathtaking. I highly recommend booking a room or suite with a lake view. It is definitely worth the premium. Every staff member was absolutely amazing and did a fantastic job providing exceptional service. A very special thank you to Mr. Kampmann and his front office team. They provided highly attentive and personal service. Worth to mention that the breakfast buffet is amazing. We hope to return soon.

Great facility and staff. They need to work on food options. Lost in translation and charged double for breakfast . Awaiting refund .

Although the reception and guidance to my room was up to 5 star standard, i experienced significant service issues during my stay. Room service at extension 250 was very difficult to reach. Although the reception staff were helpful, the outcome was disappointing: after 30 minutes and three phone calls, I received honey on an open plate instead of in a sealed jar. In addition, I waited 30 minutes for my car. The valet was unable to start it due to the new keycard system, which resulted in me having to walk with my suitcases behind him to retrieve the car myself. Breakfast was also below expectations. I ordered an omelet without mushrooms, but it was served with mushrooms. The bread assortment and overall selection were very limited. This level of service does not align with what one would expect from a five-star hotel. I sincerely hope that my future visit to the soon-to-be-opened Mandarin in Dubai Downtown will be more in line with the standards your brand represents

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were particularly impressed by Johannes and his team at the front desk! We would not say that it was a perfect day but then again no stay is perfect! Housekeeping accidentally broke a charger and our initial room did not have a Lakeview. However, in every instance, the front desk team was able to address our concerns and style and with integrity! We travel a lot and have hardly ever experienced this level of luxury follow through from a guest relations team. Breakfast was adequate but not as over the top as you might expect. Location is absolutely superb - we appreciated being just a bit away from the most touristed area.

The hotel is in a good location; it is easy to walk to restaurants and attractions. It has a welcoming and relaxed feel. The breakfast buffet has a nice selection, too.

We had two rooms at the hotel for three nights. The room for our three teens was very large and had great dormer windows facing the hill and city behind the hotel. Our room faced the lake with a breathtaking view. The hotel is very traditional but has all of the latest amenities. The breakfast ( included with our rooms) was a highlight of our stay. We stayed at this same hotel in the Summer of 2023, and it remains one if the best hotels we have stated in as a family. Be sure to visit the casino next door. All you need is a passport to get in. Great hotel and very helpful staff.

A lovely outside terrace restaurant offers a beautiful lake view with a range of afternoon small plates. I absolutely loved the Mandu Dumplings. A great presentation. A fabulous zesty zinger of flavor. Not too much - just right.
