This property has aged incredibly well! It is as current and dynamic today as it was when it opened. Great staff and service - exactly what is expected when booking a Ritz Carlton property. The location is convenient and the hotel is highly recommended.

Hotel is very run down. Sine ply toilet paper. Torn lamp in our room. Front entry way had empty glasses and paper cups (trash) and no one picked them up!. Very Disappointing! I have always liked Ritz Carltons. They have definitely lowered their standards. Will Not be back here!

This hotel is straight out of the ‘90s. The rooms and lobby seemingly don’t appear to have been updated at all. They are old, dark and overlook a “courtyard” which is just a small patch of overgrown grass that lies between your room and the building on the other side. This means you have to keep your curtains shut for privacy. The lighting is poor, the furnishings are minimal and appear to be very cheap; and the service was… During peak hours guest services took 5-10 minutes to answer the phone, then left us on hold for another 10 minutes. The only good thing about this hotel were the pillows.

This is the first Ritz-Carlton property that I’ve stayed at that felt more like a boutique hotel rather than a typical full-service Ritz Carlton. Bonvoy ambassador recognition was poor unfortunately. Upon arrival at the hotel at lunchtime I did a pre-check in. The gentleman at the front desk did not acknowledge status and advised that my room was not ready. I asked if there was any possibility of being able to receive an upgrade for my ambassador status. He immediately responded that the hotel was fully committed, and no upgrade would be possible. I found that to be surprising in light of the fact that no less than six different suite options were available for booking for the nights of my stay on the Marriott app. I was, however, delighted to receive a welcome unity of Georgetown cupcakes, a couple of hours after I eventually checked in. I had a very good massage treatment at the in-house spa. The lady at the spa front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and largely suited my purposes, although the sheers were in dire need of replacement - I could not keep them closed unless I went to the wardrobe to grab a clip hanger to keep them shot. This was a bit of an inconvenience in light of the floor. I was on and view out to the street and surrounding buildings for getting dressed and undressed. It was great to have a nice, soaking tub and housekeeping was very thorough with their servicing of the room. The business center computer ran a bit slow. If there is a possibility of addressing that, I think it would be appreciated. Generally, I noticed that whenever crossing paths with stuff on the property, they were very friendly and gracious. One young lady saw me carrying a few things in my arms, as I approached a staircase, and offered to assist. I thought that was very proactive and kind of her.

Turned away upon arrival, due to a verification procedure regarding corporate discounts. I am a consultant, and rely on the client’s business to reimburse my travel. Upon check-in, I was told that my corporate discount verification was not sufficient, and that I would be required to pay more than double for my stay, with myself responsable for the difference (over 50% of the cost). I was checking in after business hours, and my contact with the client corporation was not available to verify. Corporate travelers, beware.

My husband, two young children and I stayed at the ritz in Georgetown for their school vacation last month. We were trepidatious traveling with a 5 and 6 year old but from the moment we checked in, the staff made every effort to make it an enjoyable experience. They greeted my husband and I with champagne and offered our children a stuffed animal from their red wagon, this was just the first 10 minutes. When we got home to Massachusetts we realized my son left a pair of pajamas (no big deal) and almost all of his stuffed animals (very big deal), still not sure how this happened. When I called I was transferred to Jose who said he would look for them and call me back. About 30 seconds later he called me back, told me he found everything, and that he would ship everything to me and PAY FOR IT HIMSELF because he has children and understands what a heartbreak it was. Of course you except a certain level of service from the Ritz but this is so much more. Cannot wait to return.

Perfect location for visiting our family in Georgetown. Have stayed here a number of times now and the service, friendliness and professionalism showed by everyone from the door man to the general manger and everyone in between is exemplary. We would return and recommend without hesitation.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown location prior one night before New Year's eve, and so glad that we returned to this location. Attention to detail, excellent customer service, and a boutique hotel experience are part of this hotel in this great location. We decided to stay in this location because it is one of the two pet-friendly Ritz-Carlton hotels in the DC area. We have stayed in the past without pets and have barely seen any pets in the lobby or any location within the hotel. Before arrival, we were reached through email to confirm all details regarding our stay. We waited for our room to be ready upon arrival, but it was short and worth it. Once we got to our room, we were surprised by the 1100 sq. ft. Premier Suite size. The view of Arlington and Potomac from the living room was great and allowed us to see parts of Georgetown. The bedroom and bathroom are top-notch and allow for a peaceful experience. One of the most significant benefits of staying in this location is its proximity to great restaurants, such as Filomena and Il Canale. In addition, it is extremely quiet and gives you the sense of a boutique hotel, completely different from other Ritz-Carlton locations we have been to. I would highly recommend this location and would like to recognize the efforts of Lan and Rishi for the friendly welcome and for going above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
