Beautiful old mansion and grounds View spoiled by cars parked in front of main house Needs some TLC

We really liked the hotel. Had been past many times but first overnight. The HVAC system made a noise about every 30 minutes like a stack of plates being dropped. I realize things don't always work properly but when reported it upon checkout I was toid they were aware of it already???? WTH? And they put us in the room anyway???? Unforgiveable.

We were expecting a much grander as it was an old plantation. Poor Experience, there was not enough seating for our breakfast. Music played in the hallway all night, which was very disturbing. Check out person was not extremely helpful.

It was a late night early morning for me

This is a really beautiful, casual resort in a rural area of Virginia. The historical aspects and grounds seem well maintained. The rooms and bathrooms are large and clean. The fixtures do show some wear and age, though. And the included breakfast really is subpar, especially since this resort touts itself as luxury. Even given that, I would highly recommend this place.

the property is quiet bucolic and somewhat serene, anachronistic in a good way, great place for a private getaway. The rooms were too cold even n the summer and attempts to lower the AC were ineffective, needs to be remedied, also the gym is in need of a major remodel, walls were smeared and dirty as well as ceiling times and 2 of the machines about 10 worked, literally just a few mismatched weights to be had. Overall for the guest who wants to do nothing great, if you want to mix in a few activities not so great, go there to do nothing but sleep and daydream.

Room was dirty and so were the sheets.

Beautiful property! Relaxing! Unique and front desk person was very nice and fun!

It was a nice place, other than i couldn't take a shower this morning. I'm sure they wouldn't fixed it or something, but i didn't find it until it was almost time to check out.

This was just a one night stay for a business trip. The hotel had very nice character and felt like something out of a movie. I wish I had time for the spa but did not.
