O´Brien Historic Hotel

- tres bon emplacement proche du riverwalk mais pas non plus trop près de l'effervescence. Du coup moins bruyant - chambre grande maison dans son jus - balcon sympa - parking juste a côté (25$ la journée), beaucoup moins cher que d’autres dans la ville

- pas de petit déj. Café dispo a l'accueil mais pas beaucoup en quantité

Only upside to property was the location to riverwalk and easy to walk to alamodome.

The rooms were not clean and had a musty smell. The tops of furniture had a layer of dust on them. The front desk staff member informed us we have to find housekeeping ourselves for a wash cloth and towels. Housekeeping did not clean our room during our visit. The bathroom walls had black substance suspicious for mold on top of walls. I am currently pregnant, and I woke up feeling sick with sneezing, cough, and congestion. So, I am assuming it was mold. No exhaust fan in restroom to help eliminate the moisture. The toilet paper roll was used. The shower head was broke and not fully attached. The soap container was not attached to wall. The bath soap container was completely empty. The toilet was not cleaned. The parking garage would not let us out, had to call a number which then tried to charge us an additional fee for parking. We paid for parking in the garage with O’Brien hotel. Went to front desk and told they have no control of parking garage.

Worst hotel experience of my life. Our door lock was BROKEN! We could not leave our room to walk to dinner on the riverwalk (our reason for booking) and soon realized we could NOT LOCK THE DOOR from the inside too! When we requested assistance or room change, the front desk lady offered no help. We even took a video showing the faulty lock and she still pretended to “contact the manager” to no avail. Finally we decided it was unsafe to stay after 45 futile minutes of waiting. No refund given, and even hotels.com is not cooperating. Pay the extra money for a real hotel experience. This ghetto fake boutique hotel is nothing of the sort. It is smelly, dusty, musty and lacks taste. Period.

Location, balcony

Room was so dirty. It was n ot suitable for families with a kid. Our feet turned completely black when we touched the floor. I've never seen such a neglected room. We asked for cleaning, but nothing changed. The carpet on the floor is very unhygienic.

The stay was a short walking distance to the event.

When the room was booked I requested a balcony. Upon checking in we were not given any notice that there was not a balcony available. Front desk staff must be friendly! Also, housekeeping did not pickup trash or provide clean towels.
