Location is awesome. Close to river walk, La Villita, Hemisfair, restaurants

It could use. Little updating but it is a historic hotel. It’s a little quirky and has its own personality and we loved that

The parlor area was very cool. I wish someone would have used it.

The carpeting was so filthy my feet were black when I went barefoot in the room. Irt had an odor of mustiness and just unclean.

The room was very nice, luxurious old-fashioned, and had a view of the city. The architecture and old lighting in the hotel was nice ambience. These rooms feature traditional bathtubs as well as showers so it was a nice to take a bath. The hotel is very close to riverwalk entrances as well as the Alamo. Pretty much everything cool in San Antonio is within reasonable walking distance

The staff were a little bit cold, not rude per say, just very ambivalent, dismissive, and not super welcoming. That's not super important, though, and overall the stay was so nice I would say that it doesn't really detract from the experience
