Papagayo Beach Resort

Geweldige villa met heerlijke veranda. Op loopafstand van het strand. Heel aardig en vriendelijk personeel. Enige dat ons tegenviel is de meerprijs voor gedeeltelijk zeezicht, het uitzicht op zee was zo minimaal dat was het niet waard.

Great location

Property was nice, close to beach, cleaning staff and maintenance crew were great- kind , friendly and helpful. Since we had an ocean view villa we were close to the beach area and the music on Friday and Saturday late night kept us awake. Wish the rooms were sound proof.

We stay at Papagayo Beach Resort in a 4 bedroom villa and it exceed all of our expectations! The villa was spacious and set up perfectly! The staff were excellent and always helpful!

Amazing individual huts! We had a 3 bed. It was awesome!

Overall our 3 bedroom villa was excellent. Plenty of room for the 5 of us and the outdoor space was excellent too. The only thing that was disappointing is that the specialty restaurant on the resort property was not open. The beach club was nice with lots of choices for food and drink, there may have been a problem with the septic as there was quite a smell for a day or two between fresh water and salt water pool.

I don't recommend the resort - but do recommend the hotel. The ocean view room advertised on line is not the view you will get when renting an ocean view villa. We had a view of a roof. There are no screens in the living room in the villa, so basically, it's like renting two bedrooms and a huge porch. The sliding doors (which have slats in them that let the mosquitoes in) didn't even close properly, so we had to have someone come to close them for us. There were mosquitoes in the living area and bedrooms. There are mosquito nets for the beds, but the mosquitoes were in the living room as well. The bedrooms are air conditioned, but the bathrooms are not - so getting ready to go out is unpleasant. Hector in reception was super helpful and we were able to move to the hotel, but at a cost. They would not refund the difference in price, and the hotel was less expensive. They did cover the cost of a breakfast, but overall we lost about $200. The hotel was nice - very helpful staff. But inexplicably, there was a pile of dirty linens and garbage in the corner outside our room for the time we were there. There also is no beach right at the hotel - you have to walk down to the Jan Theil beach, which is just a few minutes walking. The hotel has chairs along a salt water pool - which is very pretty, but still not the beach.

Papagayo Beach Resort is a beautiful location. The Villa I stayed was very clean with a perfect structure for a family that wants to go out for dinning or lunch and also stay like your home. The attention of the staff is great, but we had some issues with the all inclusive system. I needed to call several times to the reception to ask to fulfill the refrigerator with water (in an all inclusive package, the refrigerator needs to be fulfilled on a daily basis, without asking). Another point os about the restaurant. Breakfast with not so many options (for the price we paid for the stay, I was expecting more options). Dinner - menu is always the same (everyday of the week) and the worst for us was that there were 2 nights with events in the main restaurant close to the beach and the hosts just had the option to ask for the snacks menu and not for the entire menu, which is not a reasonable option for an all inclusive package.

Beautiful surroundings, walking distance to the beach/restaurants & fantastic accommodations. The open air porch was so nice to watch birds, lizards & iguana. We were able to get groceries close by and eat dinner at our villa a few times. Hector was so helpful with getting the dishwasher running & laundry services. Loechnella helped us find a perfect spot to watch the Carnaval parade as well. Great people looking after us at the Papagayo Beach Resort- we felt very safe & well taken care of on this vacation.

Had a great experience with rental of four beach cabanas. Loved the service and the food. Had a great day at the beach and felt the $600 we spent worth it. Went back a week later and had rented the four cabanas again. Or we thought we had. Turns out they double booked two of the cabanas and wanted to split our group. After much strained conversation with the absolutely clueless staff we decided to move to the lower priced cabanas. Expecting to get four next to each other we were told we had to split up again as the four we chose had one of them booked. Spoke to the management which pretty much said you are out of luck as we will book these no problem. Obviously we were disappointed at that statement. We were left with no choice but to leave. The whole experience was total chaos. Leaving Curaçao with a bad taste and this just put us over the top. BEWARE when renting cabanas at Papagayo Beach Resort.
