Comfort Inn San Diego Old Town

This is a great place to stay! Gabriel, Rodrigo and Angel helped me with all of the things I needed. They are very courteous and attentive. Clean, comfortable room and convenient location.

I read some mixed reviews so was not sure what to expect. King room on 3rd floor was small and very poorly lighted with only one light on the single nightstand in the room. Never had a hotel room with only one light before. We arrived late at night so just crashed in the room. Had 3 night reservation so friendly staff offered us a larger room the next morning but since we had already unpacked, just decided to stay put. Room was clean and bed comfy. Road noise not bad since we were not facing the road. The sheer curtain over the window had large tear. There was only 1 chair in the room, no towel bar in bathroom. Breakfast was ok, but scrambled eggs were dry and on our last morning there was moldy bread in the bread drawer. I pointed it out to the kitchen staff and she promptly removed all the bread and cleaned the container. The location was great, very easy on/off the highway and walkable to Old Town. Parking garage underneath was convenient but wish it was free. Hotel seems dated but you can tell they try to maintain it. For the price compared to other hotels in the area, I would stay again but get a larger room.

Location was perfect for where we wanted to travel to and from. The breakfast was delicious, always hot and plentiful with many choices. The breakfast staff was polite, pleasant and helpful. The breakfast room was very clean. The hotel grounds, rooms, lobby were immaculate and the staff was always outside cleaning the entranceway and pool area. The pool area was comfortable and towels were provided. The staff was immediately responsive to all requests and inquiries. I would highly recommend this location and would certainly return for another stay.

The room should have more lighting, more towel racks in the bathroom and hooks for towels. Two or three luggage racks should be provided for more than one person staying in the room. We were three adults in the room and the lack of drying areas for our towels was a problem and we had to use the chairs for our suitcases. We did have a problem with a wet rug by the bed which was brought to the attention of the desk manager the morning after our arrival. We thought that it was a minimal problem until day 3 when it was still wet. At that time, we told the desk manager and he immediately changed our room and the staff was then on the job to dry the rug. This could have caused mold if not addressed and should not be used for customers until it is completely remedied. Perhaps the carpeting should be totally removed and new carpeting installed. Both managers were very pleasant, apologetic, and accommodating to our dilemma.

Room was outdated and the bed was very uncomfortable, felt like the room and carpet needed deep cleaning. Otherwise good for short stays!

We stayed for 4 nights they never cleaned our room at all !!!!

Location

The room was dank and stunk; the carpet in the hallway was loose and hard to push luggage over. The passageways were too narrow— you couldn’t pass with luggage if the maid cart was there. Parking was extra. Breakfast only served till 9.

I liked the beds and location.

I dind't like the unexpected charges for the parking and security deposit was way too high.
