BLU-Tique, Akron, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Reserved a two bedroom unit on Expedia. When we arrived, we were assigned a single bed unit. I had to sleep on the chair.

Overall cleanliness. That is very important.

The breakfast coupon system. The food was not very good. Egg omelet was way overcooked. Ham was poor quality. Home fries were not thoroughly cooked, appeared like they were reheated. The best part of breakfast was the toast. Waitress was not very attentive made a lot of simple mistakes resulting in her apologizing several times.

The bar and restaurant were great. Doc, the mixologist, was knowledgeable, fun, and a good time. The hotel is clean with great front desk service. Outside of the service that housekeeping provided (missing towels every day, trash on the bathroom floor, no room cleanup), everything else was great!

There was an issue with the air conditioning and it was not working properly.

I am really still mad that no one reached out after I called to speak to a manager. Was at a concert, no cell reception when they called at 9:30p to say they were oversold a with no relocation guarantee. Ended up driving back home 2.5 hours away and getting in around 3am

Had an amazing trip with my husband. Went to a comedy show at the goodyear theater. This hotel wasnt far away from the theater. The hotel has a parking garage right behind the hotel where we felt safe leaving our vehicle. The hotel itself is beautiful. They kept the old building vibe which is so cool. The only thing I didnt like was the carpet had a weird feeling to it. However that shower though felt amazing! The restaurant and bar was so good! We had dinner and breakfast there. The waiter and waitress that we had were fantastic people. Overall was a great stay and would do it again.

My sister and I stayed on Saturday night. The room was beautiful. The hotel was also centrally located to the restaurant and Akron Civic Center. She and I also enjoyed after concert drinks in the bar/restaurant that night and breakfast there the next morning. The bartender that night and the server the were very friendly and gave great service.

Super nice hotel. Only drawback is the road noise is really excessive.

We booked a room with two double beds. We got one king bed. That was a disappointment- and we were not offered a new room. Parking garage is inconvenient. Everything else was terrific.

Booked my room under an Explore Rate while traveling to coach a little league football game. I contacted the hotel's night shift to let her know I was traveling on the road and the time I'd arrive (before 2am) I then proceeded to email my Rate validation form to the hotel. I then caught wind that a little after 2am the night rep called the hotel of the form to verify if my family member actually worked at the hotel. I do understand the precaution to prevent misuse of the benefit but what was peculiar is that the employee did this before I arrived and the hour of doing so was odd. I gave them no reason to expect misuse as I hadn't even arrived yet, I emailed the sheet for pure convenience as I had no access to a printer on the road; I even asked if using the business center to print myself would be better beforehand. It just kind of felt like I was singled out especially seeing that I travel really often (platinum member) and have never had this happen. It's not really a big deal but seemed worth mentioning seeing that the explore forms have dates and validation codes on them to verify. Some employees seem to have a preset bias with Explore rate users and this effects the experience for me at times but this was the first. A discount doesn't mean free! I'm a paying guest like everyone else
