BLU-Tique, Akron, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Wonderful stay! We checked in rather the late and the front desk clerk was so kind and welcoming. The room was quaint and very clean. Loved the aesthetic and decor of the building. 10/10 would stay again!

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Akron. Pleasantly surprised. Staff gets an A+ for being engaging and welcoming. They upgraded me to a junior suite and it was very clean, roomy and comfortable. Hotel is in a former cigar factory and it’s a wonderful reimagining of the space. If you find yourself in Akron, I recommend this hotel.

What an unexpected delight it was to stay at the Blu-Tique Akron! We were visiting Akron for the first time and didn't really know what to expect. This hotel is in the middle of downtown and is housed in what used to be a commercial building that was built in the early 20th century. It is a fabulous and successful blend of the old and the new. I loved the old mail chutes, the old floor indicators for the elevators, and the original doors to the rooms. But most everything is totally modern. Our two-queen room on the 8th floor was spacious and quiet, with lots of big windows with black-out curtains. The bathroom was immaculately clean and the mini-fridge surprisingly large. The air conditioning/heating system was quiet and worked perfectly. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the in-house restaurant- definitely well worth it. The food and drinks were great and good value for the price. One of the most surprising aspects of our stay was finding out how much the staff love working at Blu-Tique. Caroline at the front desk was super-friendly, welcoming, and gave us great tips about things to do. Brian and Scarlet served us dinner and breakfast respectively and couldn't have been better. Whoever manages the hotel has done a great job at hiring good people and training their staff, who take real pride in their work. The location is also great. One block from the Akron Art Museum, with a brewery next door, a jazz club across the street, and one mile from the University of Akron. I would go out of my way to stay here again!

Loved this place. It is an old building with a lot of old characteristics.

The staff was amazing!!! Im not familiar with Akron but the night receptionist helped me figure out where to park to check in, and where to park overnight. When i got lost i called and she. explained the parking situation . She even found a room bettet suited for us than the one we registered for. Coming back from the marathon i was going to pack my and my daughter's stuff up while waiting for other runners,and she offered me late check out with no additional cost. I found the room to be clean and comfortable and the shower nice and hot. I will definitely be a repeat customer!!!

Room was very clean and we enjoyed the proximity to so many fun and cute shops!
