BLU-Tique, Akron, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Beautiful revamp of old office building. Kept the character of the old and brought in modern touches. Staff friendly, bartender very personable and friendly. Would highly recommend and will stay there again.

Downtown hotel with a modern interior, a stylish and trendy place to stay. This hotel features chic decor, contemporary furnishings, and a cool, laid-back atmosphere. On-site bar and restaurant with live music that served up creative, modern cuisine. Sophisticated style, impeccable service, and prime location in the heart of downtown.

This was our first, but definitely not last, time staying here. The hotel was beautiful and all of the staff was great!! The highlight of our stay was the young man playing piano in the bar area. We sat for a couple of hours listening to him and he was absolutely amazing!! We will definitely be back!

We were on our way to Pennsylvania and stopped in Akron for the night. Being Marriott people, we opted for the Blutique. It is a beautiful old commercial building that was built in 1923. They have remodeled but kept so many of the unique things that make this hotel so special. The room was perfect and had a very comfortable bed and big bathroom. We had dinner at the restaurant and both enjoyed our meals (he had a steak and I had tetrazzini). After our meal we each had cocktails and were pleasantly surprised to see a musician setting up to play. His name was Little Steve-O and he was sooo good! We will definitely make the Blutique a part of our trip every time we go through on our way to Pennsylvania!

I had the worst experience over the phone with the front desk manager resulting in her canceling my reservation, then we re-booked with Marriott rep and then decided we do not need to stay at this property. We canceled and had Marriott create a case. I also suggested they listen to the conversation if calls are recorded. I strongly recommend that Carolyn receive coaching on how to handle guests with professionalism, patience, and respect. It is also essential to evaluate her ability to serve as a front-line representative, as her behavior reflects poorly on your property and Marriott as a whole. Guests, you will have to walk on egg shells with Carolyn. Be aware!

This hotel was beautiful! We walked to local restaurants/ bars and the Civic Theater for a performance. The staff were polite and helpful. Will definitely be back!!
