Sea Otter Inn

The location was fantastic, with the beach and the Moonstone Beach Board walk just adjacent to the Inn. The boardwalk enabled you to walk along the coast and eventually access the nearby town of Cambria. The breakfast delivery in the basket was also a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

It’s a huge shame the pool wasn’t open as this was one of the main reasons we booked this Inn over some of the others. This wasn’t advertised on Booking.com, although once we were staying at the Sea Otter Inn, we saw this note on their website.

Very nice property. Wonderful ocean view from our room. Great location for a relaxing visit. Great staff. Room was spacious, clean and well furnished. Bed was awesome. Daily breakfast options delivered were great quality. Only downsides were the faulty gas fireplace and the in room coffee quality. We would stay here again.

The room was clean and attractive. There was a fireplace in the room and fire pits outside. The cute picnic basket for breakfast was a nice touch.

The coffee provided was instant. The shower drain was slow.

Beds were comfy…… New shower, enclosure and location was great. And it was nice and clean and price was right.

A silly little thing I didn’t like was that you have to reach way into the shower to turn it on in the morning and you get wet, but that is minor

Breakfast was very good.

We have been going for over 40+ years to this hotel. We have witnessed many renovations and staff changes throughout the years. Sometimes, we reserve with the hotel directly, and sometimes we use a third party. We have always been treated the same. This recent visit, we were informed that because we used a third party to book, the regular morning breakfast was not included, but we could pay extra. It would have been nice for a heads up from the third party booking company. Thankfully we always take snacks, so we were not inconvenienced. Another reason for the low rating, my 88 year old mother looks forward to using the jacuzzi during our stay. We were not notified of the pool area closure until we got there. The notice from the health department looked like it had been up more than just a day or 2, so again, a "heads up" from the motel would have been nice (and yes they communicate through the third party). The staff continues to be pleasant, the rooms continue to be clean, and you cannot beat the location for taking walks on the beach boardwalk!
