Historic Plains Hotel

Loved the look of this hotel when I was booking online, and it is beautiful in person. It does say 'historic' which should have given me a clue that the rooms are really small and bathrooms very outdated. With our friends room - she flushed the toilet and water started shooting out of the wall. She was drenched! They wanted to fix the leak and for them to stay in the same room. My friends had to insist on another room as there was water everywhere. Took awhile but they were moved to another room. There was no breakfast that I could see but to fair I can't remember if it stated there would be. Coffee available to go in the morning. Bathrooms definitely need a good scrub. Door didn't close to the bathroom, I think due to moisture. For some reason there was a large fridge in the room which took up a crazy amount of space. I think if we stayed more than one night we might appreciate the beauty of the place more but I'm not sure I would actually want to. Location was great for downtown. Able to find a great place to eat dinner only a block away. Across the road is the Cheyenne Depot park and then the Depot is beautiful.

Location is excellent - you can walk to almost anywhere in downtown. The building and decor are pretty cool! This is a historical building, and it feels like it.

The only downside is no attached/covered parking. Parking is easy to find, and they have a dedicated lot a block or so away, but in cold, wet, windy weather, it's kind of a bummer to have to park on the street or down the block. Small price to pay for an otherwise great location and hotel!
