Historic Plains Hotel

The location was well within good walking distance to some good local restaurants and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean and beds seemed new and were very comfortable.

The hotel is located along a very busy road. Traffic noise was bad throughout the night. It didn’t help our window was unable to shut all the way and a plexiglass sheet was drilled to the window frame to keep from trying to close the window. The pictures showing a vibrant updated front entrance and check-in-desk area are obviously AI generated, along with all the pictures of the restaurant and its food. The actual front desk area is fine but does not come across as fancy or updated. Staff also didn’t recommend the hotel restaurant/bar and instead directed us down the street to a local bar/grill. The room itself was very plain and undecorated. The bathroom was tiny, and there were lots of discolored repairs that were noted in the walls and tile. The shower was so over pressured that water would run under the door and soak into the carpet. The stains on the floor indicated this was a problem for other guests as well. Parking was also an issue. If you park alongside the road out front be prepared to have to wait to exit your vehicle or get to your doors along the street. The street is very busy with traffic and the roads are narrow. The hotel parking lot is located two blocks away and isn’t very convenient to get to. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel and don’t plan on returning.

Could have been cleaner. Overall it was what I expected for a historic building. Honestly they just need to work a bit more on the cleanliness. That's really it.

We very much enjoyed the atmosphere of this historic hotel. The lobby was very much the same as if you had just left the Cheyenne Depot to spend the night here. It is old (built in 1911), but smelled much better than many newer hotels we've stayed at recently. Michael, the desk clerk, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the hotel and it's interesting history. The room was very nice and quiet, the bed was comfortable, the view was great, and the bath room was nice. We stayed in the Cowboy Suite and it was awesome. We also were within easy walking distance to downtown night life, which we enjoyed. For railroad enthusiasts, the historic Union Pacific Depot is across the street with a museum and on special occasions tours of the UP Steam Shops. We recommend this hotel for anyone who would like a unique experience.

The breakfast was available, but very limited. The bathroom was tight, as you would expect in an old hotel, but the lighting and water pressure were fine. Parking is on the street with a hotel parking lot available about a block away, but we were able to park next to the hotel. There are a few compromises due to its age, but it has been updated in the necessary areas.

Mit hat nicht gefallen, das meine Buchung durch Booking.com nie bei dem Hotel angekommen ist. Mir wurden aber kollanter Weise 2 Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt. Booking.com ist die unzuverlässig ste Platform die es gibt. Ich werde sie in Zukunft meiden und allen Freunden und Bekannten abraten sie zu benutzen.
