"The Stay was great like walking back into 1911 time, I would stay there again."

10.0

It was a charming place, the desk manager was great. He helped us since Booking never made the reservations for my group.

Booking did a crap job, there where no reservations for the 3 rooms I reserved. We walked in to fine nothing was there under my name or my friends name. Lucky enough they had some rooms and did honor the rate I was showing them. This was the second error with booking.Com, I had to change reservations before I left for the trip because Booking didn't have reservations for my friends either. I may not use booking again, way to many screw ups on reservations. No one cares or takes time to make sure there web site works, and that is the problem withmost of these third party sites online. They send it to IT in a e-mail, and think everything works, you have to go make a reservations, and then call that hotel and test it, make sure its working, and no one does a complete check on anything, thats the major problem today. And I put the blame on CEO's VP's and all these so called District Managers, they all talk crap on CNBC, yet I would fire them all, most suck and don't have a clue in life. I see it all the time in everything I use on the computer. As a Quality control Clerk I saw it all the time in the last job.

Unique, comfortable, staff had their dogs, which was great. I really classic old place but fun.

It may be because of the season, but the restaurant was not open and I had planned to have a nice dinner there. Also because of its size, the windows were very dirty and I couldn’t really enjoy the view.

"Great historic place to stay"

8.0

Very cool old historical building, great location and good people working there. The bartender was great as well.

I hope they can keep the place maintained. Would like to see the big rooms utilized again.

"Potentially charming downtown hotel that disappoints with poor maintenance and uncleanliness."

4.0

The location can't be beat, especially if you like to park your car once at check-in and travel by foot until you depart for onward travel. I enjoy historic properties and prefer to stay in hotels instead of private homestays. On the surface, the Historic Plains Hotel offers a stay with character. The elevator is quirky, the floors are creaky, there are old photos scattered throughout, and the place may very well be haunted. No two rooms are alike.

This was my fifth, and barring significant upgrades, final time staying at the Historic Plains Hotel. It has always been quirky, as old properties often are, but over the years, upkeep and cleanliness have disappointingly waned. I've stayed in many old hotels, and I'm willing to accept, even embrace, certain things that come with age—a quirky layout, insufficient power outlets, awkwardly tiny bathrooms, and small elevators can offer charm. But age needn't imply filth and lack of maintenance, and unfortunately, these have become the norm at this property. Linens and towels are thin and often stained. The carpet is sufficiently questionable that one is tempted to keep one's shoes on. The shower starts with a flood of brown water and drains so slowly that one is left standing in a pool of who-knows-what. On my most recent stay, I discovered pieces of food in the bedside table. I have given the Historic Plains Hotel the benefit of the doubt for several years, but when one gives serious thought to bringing one's own pillow and towels from home, it's time to say goodbye. I genuinely hope this hotel finds investors who can overhaul the property and turn it into a landmark hotel every, of which every downtown deserves to have at least one. Until such time, I do not recommend staying at the Historic Plains Hotel.

"Une ville historique et singulière"

L’histoire du lieu, la qualité a l’origine du bâtiment

Beaucoup d’équipements obsolètes…la présence de la climatisation condamne toute ouverture 🥴
