Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago

We celebrated a 90th Birthday Party in the Great Oaks Pavillion and it was fantastic! Everything about this special celebration was well done. The room itself was beautiful and a perfect setting for tables of ten. The food was delicious, the staff extra attentive, and the ambiance of the setting -- looking out on the beautiful grounds through the full windows -- was a treat. Most importantly, for a big party, the event coordinator was terrific. She was available for phone calls as needed, returned all emails promptly, provided really good advice, and helped make this an enjoyable experience for all.

This stay has been a big disappointment given the positive reviews. While there was a separate check-in for World of Hyatt status members, it was not staffed. I had to use the regular check-in. My status was not acknowledged, and it seemed a bit rushed. I got no status benefits at all. There was a dead fly in the bathroom that I flushed down the toilet. Was told room wasn't used in a while and it took longer to get hot water.

I liked the property but I will probably not stay again because they double charged my personal checking account/debit card even though I prepaid through Booking on 12/1/25. It’s caused unnecessary stress with no concern or apologies from the hotel. I only authorized $50 to be taken from my personal checking/debit when I checked in on 12/20/25. I checked in between 4:30 and 5. on 12/20/25. The woman at the front desk had a hard time checking me in and initially wanted to charge me over $530 dollars to my personal checking/debit. I told her no and didn’t swipe my card because I told her repeatedly that I pre-paid through Booking.com. She went ahead and fixed the charge to only reflect $50 which was the only charge I approved during my entire stay. But they went ahead and charged me for two nights through my personal checking/debit even though I paid in full through Booking on 12/1/25. I noticed the 1st night’s charge on Saturday evening 12/20/25, and i went to talk to the front desk around 6:30 PM, and I was brushed off. They didn’t ask my name or to look up my account even though I let them know I was staying in room 223. They just said it was a pre-authorization that would be put back into my account. I never authorized those charges and now Max G today 12/24/25 from the front desk at the Hyatt Lodge tells me first that they are pre-authorizations that will clear without asking for my name or information to look me up. Then I demand to be looked up and Max G. says that if I get a refund to my checking or debit account it’s going to take until next week 12/31/25 to get it even though the front desk staff on 12/22/25 at checkout at 12 PM, said it would take 24 to 48 hours from 12/22/25. Max G in particular showed no concern or expressed no apologies. He tried to blame me by saying I authorized the charges at check-in, and I said no I didn’t.

Great location to the mall. Wonderful pool. In a wooded setting with a lake. Very peaceful other than the fire alarm at 9PM. :)

Nothing. Beautiful place

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve experienced. The front desk was consistently unreachable, with phones going unanswered whenever assistance was needed. The restaurant experience was even more frustrating—my breakfast had to be remade twice due to errors, and our room service dinner never arrived and ultimately had to be canceled. As a World of Hyatt member, there was no recognition or sense of hospitality throughout the stay. Overall, the service, communication, and dining experience fell far below Hyatt standards.

Staff was AMAZING - Breakfast was top notch and the hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The Christmas decoration were wonderful.
