"Charming Pub in Beautiful Location"

10.0

Lovely stay at The Harp Inn, we were given a warm welcome on our arrival and found that our twin room number 1 was now an ensuite with a brand new bathroom and the room newly and tastefully decorated. There were lamps over each bed with a charging point for phones right next to the bed. The floor was a little uneven but this led to the charm of an historic building. Some noise could be heard from the pub but was quiet as soon as the pub closed. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and delicious and the evening meal was also really tasty. Thank you for a lovely weekend break.

"Comfortable "

Very friendly and welcoming, even with our huge dog! Walls are very thin so we were kept awake by our neighbours by the first night. I think the bed needs a new mattress! Very handy and accommodating. Shame they weren’t open for a drink on the Monday evening!

"Dont bother"

2.0

The couple who owned the hotel were friendly and semi professional. The whole place is clean but neads a serious upgrade. It is stuck in a time warp from the 70's. The room was very small for two single beds, it should be a single room. Floors uneven snd slope so you think your at sea. The plugs are situated at tge end of the bed so very very inconvenient and unexceptable. I use a cpap machine for sleeping and had to plug it in at the end of the bed. Then I wanted to charge my phone and had to unplug the TV. Just not thought through for the modern age. Beds were rickety and squeaky. Mattress was old and lumpy, lost its spring along with pillows. I kept thinking bed was going to collapse. Toilet kept filling up forever after flashing, Woodchip wallpaper painted in builder's magnolia in room and the whole place actually. Food was tasteless and very oily. Cooked breakfast took a bath in oil and sausages were seamed to be boiled rather than fried i love to try these independent hotels but this one drove me back to the chained hotels.

No issues with the cleanliness but it was a very noisy room at the front, from the pub and the main road.

"The Harp Inn- lovely stay"

8.0

Situated just 3 miles outside of Hay on Wye, this lovely hotel was a perfect spot to stay. We were there for a family party in Hay. We were staying on a Monday night and the bar and restaurant weren't open so the hotel was very quiet. Good, friendly service.
