The George Hotel

The Staff were very accommodating as I requested late check in. The Key for my room was left at reception and the main door code was given to me.

Pangbourne is a beautiful village and we were very close to the social club.

No food available at all. Next to the train line and trains were frequent. Shower was poor. Not welcoming.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was great to be able to check in late. The pub food was good - quick and generous portions. The cleanliness of the hotel was good. The room was cold when we arrived but when we turned the radiator on it heated up quickly and we were very warm.

The parking - we had to park in the local car park which was only a short distance from the hotel. The shower was basic but adequate. I would have liked some bottled water in the room.

Have stayed here several times now . Management and staff very friendly and helpful. bed was very comfortable and room spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and enough to fill you up .

Location was perfect and surrounding village lovely

The room was right next to the train line, very noisy, very dated room and small, the shower was drip only and pointless having one

I was happy with my single room which was comfortable and was as expected.

My four children and seven grandchildren all stayed on the 12th July and some of them had booked two family rooms. Both the family rooms were directly above the bar where a live band played until 11.15pm. It was extremely noisy and meant the children were not able to get to sleep for a long time. We were all very surprised that the family rooms were located above the bar and at the front of the hotel. I think that this should be pointed out to future customers as the noise significantly detracted from their stay. Alternatively, family rooms would be better placed towards the rear of the hotel.

It was central to where we needed to be

There were no staff available on our second morning as we wanted to have breakfast but everywhere was closed so we needed to go elsewhere. This was inconvenient. The noise from the train line kept us awake at night too as we were at the back of the hotel.
