Motel 6-Winnie, TX

This was the nicest Motel 6 that I have visited. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The grounds were spacious and well kept and very well lit. it is great that dogs stay free and I felt safe at this motel walking my dog. I am not an overall fan of Motel 6, but would stay at this particular one again.

This Motel 6 was so gross! I could barely use the bathroom, it was so dirty. Hair (not anyone in my family’s!) all over the toilet, Lord knows what was on the walls… thank goodness the bedding was clean. The motel is right by the interstate, so it’s very loud. We booked it because they don’t charge for dogs & they did have a nice grassy area for dogs, but other than that, I will never stay here again.

My wife and I are not comfortable on a queen size bed so we booked a king bed. When we arrived, there was no king bed available, only two queens. We look forward to having takeout while watching a movie on TV. But the TV was out of service. I tried to use the phone to call for help from the front desk, but the phone was inoperable as well. So I have to walk to the office in the cold only to have the attendant. Tell me that the maintenance man had just left and he probably wouldn’t wanna come back so she would let me know if and when he called her back to say he was coming. In other words, I received no assistance with fixing our multiple problems. I feel we are due a refund or a credit for another night. The attendant that night was a young girl about 5 feet tall, tan complexion, and glasses. She was of no help at all. I felt like the whole thing was a bait and switch situation as the room had no business being utilized for customers. We should’ve been able to get a refund if we didn’t receive what was promised. Did I mention this was the first time my wife and I were able to be alone in over a year? Yeah…

The bed was comfortable and linens were clean and fresh.

The room was very poorly lit. The floor was filthy and my feet were black from dirt on floor. No shampoo only a bar of soap.

Didn't clean the room for the 2nd night stay.
