Motel 6-Winnie, TX

Good location with easy access. Clean room. Comfortable bed.

The first time we stayed here wasn't bad at all, clean,everything worked. At the time coffee was provided in the main lobby. That's where it ends. Check wait time was unacceptable, no one was up front, sign said ring the bell, we did 15 minutes later...someone showed up, not the most helpful or friendliest. So, fast forward a few months later. Went from ok to worse. Same dam experience at check in. Room still clean. At some point during the night the toilet quit working, at 2-3 am, what are the chances of getting someone to come fix it, n to deal with it at that time, nah. After waking up go to the lobby to get coffee, none, figured they just hadn't set it up yet, a hour later, nope, so I called. Was informed they don't even have it anymore, and folks that's a basic at just about any hotel. Needless to say, will never stay there again.

It was an alright stay just lil to noisy cause the highway an no food or beverage service, but other than that it was good

The room was basic but okay. BUT, I paid for this? -- (a) at check-in, the unfriendly clerk took quite some time to come out after I came in and stood at the desk, (b) free coffee is promoted as available in the lobby -- both mornings, no coffee, (c) the internet kind of had a signal here and there, but I ended up having to use my Wi-Fi hot spot instead of their Wi-Fi, (d) came back from being out on my second day there, and my card key no longer worked--and again, no one in office and several minute wait for someone to come out to resolve it, (e) bath tub drained very slowly, (f) toilet seat was broken, (g) trash and 'cigarette butt plastic jugs' were what adorned the exterior of my room area, and appear to have been there a long time, along with dog poop on the sidewalk by my door, that stayed for my entire stay, (h) battery cover missing from TV remote, (i) no means of saying 'no service needed' during my time out, so someone was in my room while I was gone, and (j) at check-out, at a normal check-out time in the morning, again no one in the office and a 'key drop' box left on counter. 'Service' was one step away from having a check out machine that would check me in and dispense a door card key. I was looking for a place to stay each week for the next three months. I canceled the next-week reservation and I'm looking elsewhere now.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a blowout on our trailer and they allowed us to tow it to their parking lot. We were able to fix it there with no problem. The owner even let us borrow an extension cord! I'm from a big city where "brotherly love" can be in short supply at times. I'm grateful to these guys for being so kind in our time of need and being so hospitable to strangers. Gotta love that "small town" feel! I highly recommend staying here. Did I mention they accepted our 2 dogs free of charge as well?

AC/heat unit in room sounded like a jet constantly, linens had holes in them. This was after we changed rooms from a nasty smelly smoking room to a lesser one and this stay actually cost more than the previous places we stayed at in much better conditions. Very confused at how the ratings were so high. I will follow up with a formal complaint to Motel 6 when we return home to the NW.

The room size was nice.

TV didn't work. I went 3 different times to the front desk. Each time they say someone will be there in a few minutes to fix it...20 mins goes by in between each time! Nobody shows up. Finally I asked to switch to another room...exact same problem with that TV...unreal! Finally I'm moved to a room where the TV works perfect but it reeks of Marijuana smell. Just bad luck...all I can say!
