Magnuson Copper Crown

Our recent stay at the Hotel Copper Crown in Hancock, MI was a very pleasant one. The rooms are large & roomy. It was quiet; better than most places we stayed. The bed was so comfortable & I love the pillows. Had a good night's sleep. I would recommend this place as an option.

The rooms are configured weird to accommodate the city lot they acquired. But everything else about the hotel was good. Nice breakfast, quiet, & friendly.

The hotel/motel is reasonably-priced. My room was spacious with a good en-suite. Parking is available but there is no lift. There is a sauna and breakfast is included. However the breakfast was spartan, in a poky room and you might do better elsewhere. The location is good in Hancock, just across the bridge from Houghton.

Perhaps updated in The 70’s or 80’s . The noise kept my family up all night. I would expect this out of a $49 / night hotel but not a $250 place. Wont book on Hotels.com anymore - no abolity to change things

We booked this motel for Friday and Saturday for our sons wedding weekend. I called to add Thursday and was told no problem. We had a late arrival and the desk help was wonderful and let us fil out the paperwork for the next day also since it was 2 separate reservations(?) We get to the room, flip the light switch. Doesn't work. Ok lightbulb maybe, no worries we can call in the morning. Its dated. Not like your grandma's clean and dated. Dated dated. Old, frayed and stained carpet. Bathroom toilet is like sitting on the floor. There's a piece of wood covering the sink thats loose. Heat radiator covers coming off. Refrigerator doesnt work. MAYBE a 32in tv if that. We come back Friday and we're locked out of the room. Go to the desk and they say we need to fill out paperwork, that we filled out the night before. Ok. Miss communication with the help. Light not fixed but at least the bed is made. This night we have a neighbor. We could've joined in their conversation as the walls were thin. Saturday we come back to no maid service. I bring the dirty towels to the desk and ask about clean ones. I was told she "ran out of time" to clean, but he would get me new towels. As we are checking out Sunday, every person waiting had a complaint about their room.

Great location. Walking distance was perfect for both towns.

Clean rooms,friendly,helpful staff

Short shower for a tall man, but otherwise okay room. Comfortable bed. Pricey for the basic room. Very small TV. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very basic.
