Joseph behind the counter was more helpful than I could have asked. We had a situation arise and he handled it like a professional. He was a real stand up guy!

Not very handicapped accessible

Would have been nice if the 2 people working at the front desk would have offered to help us with our luggage. We’re older and they were not busy. Some of the staff were warm and friendly.

See above. Breakfast offerings was very limited. Had to seek out a staff member to replenish the coffee pot. Bathroom door did not close all the way.

Most outdated hotel we have ever stayed in! Needs a complete restoration. Cheap breakfast-not very good! No elevator! Just overall a bad experience and too much money for the quality of the hotel. At check-out we were never asked anything about our stay!

Comfy Beds!

Unfortunately, when booking this hotel for our trip to Hancock Michigan, I hadn’t known they didn’t have an elevator. My husband has AFIB and a bad knee, so we needed a first floor room. The desk person found us one, but only for an up charge of $125. The original room had already costed over $200. for a queen bed room. We had no where else to stay & only could stay 1 night, so I accepted the charge. Apparently though there were first floor rooms available to book, we were still charged. Apparently our up charge was their way of making up for rooms not rented! Also, the room we got was nasty. Broken lamp shades, worn/dirty carpet, dirt inside ceiling lamp fixtures, etc..

Our room was very nice. It was a king room, and the bed was wonderful. It was one of the best beds we have ever had in a hotel. The room was also very spacious and comfortable. The parking was good and covered parking. That could help in Hancock in the winter. On the second floor they had a large, elevated patio space that would be good for an outdoor sitting area to relax. The not so good; there is no elevator. If you have mobility problems, you should know that and do everything you can to request a first-floor room. We did not explore the layout of the hotel, but it looked like there were some areas on the first floor that also required you to climb a few steps. The next issue was breakfast. To be fair, they make it very clear on their signage it is a "continental breakfast". Most name brand hotels also say this, but they have a decent spread. Here, it is almost all carbs, cereal, or yogurt. As an added bonus, it is a big hotel, and the breakfast area is tiny! We couldn't find a seat, so we were just going to take some food back to the room, but the room is so small you could barely move, then when we saw the food, we knew we were going to need to find a restaurant. We were there two nights and going out for breakfast added to the cost of the stay. I will also say, for what they charge a night, they could afford to have a decent breakfast. This was not a low-end hotel pricewise. We would stay again, for the room and the bed, but we'd be wiser.
