Óntico Urban Design Hotel

Don't book here! The Ontico Hotel in Merida, represents itself as a luxury boutique hotel on the internet...showing light airy rooms and a sweet pool complete with cabanas. Nothing could be further from the truth. We were booked March 19th through the 26th. What we found....The room was dark, dirty and smelled of mold. The pool was cloudy and the cabanas were stained and dirty. The desk in the room was covered in coffee cup stains and only offered one coffee cup (in a room for two) with a dirty spoon and to top that, the toilet did not flush properly. These issues lead to our immediate decision to leave and find alternate accommodation. And we did. The Ontico Hotel has not offered a refund event though the cancellation was due to the lack of standards that it represents itself. We have both lived in Mexico and this was not representative of the Mexico we know and love. So, you've been warned.

Nuestra estancia en este hotel en Catapuna fue, en general, agradable, aunque con algunos aspectos importantes a mejorar. El hotel es muy bonito, con un estilo rústico encantador y una atmósfera acogedora. Se percibe que tiene mucho potencial, aunque todavía hay pequeños detalles por pulir. El personal de recepción fue especialmente amable y atento, lo cual se agradece mucho. Sin embargo, hubo dos puntos que nos sorprendieron negativamente para tratarse de un hotel de cuatro estrellas. En primer lugar, la conexión Wi-Fi era bastante deficiente. La señal era débil e inestable, lo que dificultaba su uso incluso para tareas básicas. En segundo lugar, el desayuno fue claramente insuficiente para la categoría del hotel. La oferta era muy limitada: únicamente se podía elegir entre huevos, fruta o pancakes, acompañado de café o té verde. No había opciones básicas como pan. Además, cualquier extra debía pagarse aparte. Consideramos que este aspecto debería mejorarse significativamente para estar a la altura de un hotel de cuatro estrellas. En resumen, el hotel tiene mucho encanto y un personal excelente, pero necesita mejorar ciertos servicios básicos —especialmente el desayuno y la conexión Wi-Fi— para cumplir plenamente con las expectativas de su categoría

Excellent accueil avant l’arrivée prévue par booking. Prise en charge de notre véhicule, par les employés, afin de le stationner dans un parking à proximité (moyennant 160pesos/jour). Chambre confortable, propre et bien équipée ; avec un hôtel à proximité du centre.

Great location, modern bathroom with a powerful shower, amazing pool that is a standout feature

Rooms feel very stuffy and feel either too hot or too cold with the AC on. Rooms could do with a bit of TLC, they look nice at first but they are tired
