"Nasty Customer Service"

I can't speak to the room itself yet, but I sure can speak to the "service" already. We are BW members and got a couple hotel rooms for our kids for a family reunion in Santa Cruz. They were exhausted from the journey and went at 2:45 with my husband (whose name was on the reservation) to check in. The front desk staff refused to let them check in ("3 o'clock check-in no exceptions"), and even refused to let them use the ground-floor bathrooms. I can kind of understand the check-in wait, but to not let them use the bathroom? Inhospitable and unacceptable. We are actually shocked and have never experienced that kind of customer disservice at a BW before. Someone needs to school the front desk folks at that property. Pronto. This review is cross-listed.

The location was convenient. The room was clean, and beds were comfortable.

The bathroom was very small. You to step into the shower to open the bathroom door. Breakfast could be better. The waffles were good, but the eggs were bland.

"What happened to our room?"

We made a reservation but when we arrived we were told they could see we made a reservation but there was no room for us. The clerk checked the other hotels but they did not have us either. It took a while and we were tired but the clerk was very nice and did get us a room.

Rooms were very clean

We got there 2:45pm and wanted to check in but staff was so rude they wouldn't let us check in and made us wait 15 minutes or wanted to charge $30 extra for 15 minutes. We travelled 4 hours and were tired. We were not asking for too much. They could have started checking us in and by then it would be 3pm but they waited till 3 to even start checking us in.
