Inn at Joshua Tree

Dirty pool. Housekeeping wasn’t done cleaning at check in time. Had us wait outside carrying all of our belongings waiting for them to finish so we could enter. Housekeeper asked if I “wanted” handsoap. I said YES! Of course! That’s like asking if I needed toilet paper or tissues. I couldn’t believe that. The sinks didn’t drain fast enough. Disgusting. The pool was murky and not clean at all. The hot tub dirty as well and NOT functioning. Front desk offered no apology or consolation. My kids were so upset having spent the day in the hot desert, only to come back to the room to swim at night and find out it’s not safe to swim in. The final straw was going out for breakfast on checkout day, coming back to the room 20 mins before checkout to use the bathroom and then the housekeeper coming in to complain that she had already cleaned our room and will not have to do it twice. She didn’t believe me when I said it’s my room until 11am, and insisted I wait in the room while she goes to front desk to investigate why we’re still there. NEVER had a worse experience than this.

This hotel was dirty. The hot water in room 512 would not work for several minutes. The drain was also clogged so water would not drain. The children’s feet turned black from walking on the carpet in this room. Barrington, the night clerk was very helpful and friendly and extremely professional. He helped us move to a room next-door. The floor of this room was also dirty, but the water works nicely and so did the drain on the tub. However, the children’s feet once again, turned black from walking on the floors. Additionally, we had booked this hotel for this day because we had children with us and needed the pool. Unfortunately, the pool was green and the children could not get in it.

The pool was really dirty, the water was green. It looked like it hasn't been clean for months. Which was a bummer for us since we planned being in the pool all day and go watch the milky way at night at Joshua tree national park. The room also smelled.

When checking in we found out that the pool was not open, not sure why, but that was disappointing because we had excited kids ready to swim. But the stay was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was great and the young man working breakfast was so awesome! We needed help a couple of times and he went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and was so nice and didn’t act bothered by us one bit. His hospitality made our day!

We chose this hotel because we were going to have children with us and knew they would need a place to burn off some energy. The pool was literally green. Also, the children were playing in the room that had dark brown carpet in the bottoms of their feet were black from playing in the room. The tub would not drain and it took about 10 minutes for the water to get hot. Barrington, the night clerk was incredibly helpful, courteous, and professional! He was the bright spot in our stay! He helped us move from the room with the tub that wouldn’t drain to a different room. The second room had a shower that drained properly and the hot water came on pretty quickly also. However, the baseboards were filthy. The curtains were dirty, and a cockroach ran across the floor in front of the TV. I would say their cleaning team needs to be retrained by a professional. Baseboards and vents are wiped each time, they do not get that dirty. Also, hard surface floors need to be mopped and the floors in room 512 need to be steam cleaned or ripped out and turned into hard surface. We will not be staying here again.

We ended up staying here last minute. We were in the area visiting our daughter, who is stationed at Twentynine Palms Marine Base with our son-in-law, who's deployed. Anyhow, due to heightened security at the base, we were unable to enter the first night we were there, due to needing a daily pass. It's ok for a 1-night stay. Beds were comfortable, but the property overall needs updating. The free breakfast is mediocre at best. They ran out of hash browns or fried potatoes and were never refilled. Bacon was mostly fat, chewy, and some pieces were almost transparent. The breakfast area needed cleaning badly, as evidenced by the pics. In summary, had we not needed a place to stay at the last minute, we would have stayed elsewhere. As it was, that was our decision when we needed a place to stay for the rest of the week of our trip.

Breakfast is comparable to Holiday Inn or Hilton

Pool was not maintained and unable to use. Despite being relatively not busy, they would not put us in a room of our choice and placed every guest next to each other which resulted in us being placed next to teenagers partying all night. Window had no screen, bathtub had mold, ac could not keep up with desert heat

Checkin was seamless. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. Course we were exhausted after a day of travel. Exterior of the buildings and sorrunding need updated; not much to look at but not that important. Back door was propped open so security was very lax. You had to go out the pool area to get any ice.

The room is was clean and the AC worked great which was necessary during our stay. The only thing in the room is a the light switch by the sink was loose and had to be flipped just right or the light would turn on or off on its own. The breakfast was great with lots of options. We did not get in but the hot tub appeared to be out of service because it cold was slightly green. Overall it was a good place to stay for our visit to Joshua Tree national park.
