Kyoto Machiya Zeniyacho

Fantastic accommodations! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Machiya Zeniyacho. It was perfect for two couples. Spotless, with impeccable service and some really nice bonus surprises. Very responsive to our questions. The breakfast was delicious, as well. We'd stay here again for sure.

Beautiful traditional townhome in a quiet neighborhood in Kyoto. Still very central and easy to get to and from. The baths were amazing and service was exceptional.

This property was absolutely beautiful, every detail had been considered to both keep the place traditional but also fully catered for the guest. We stayed here to celebrate my husbands 40th, I booked as a surprised and he was completely blown away. It was so calming in a great location with only a short walk to the nearest station or lovely walk into the nearest town. We’d love to return one day. It was beautiful and modern touch on an authentic ryokan

The property was beautiful! The staff were very attentive and helpful. They have thought of every detail and even checked in with us to make sure we had slept well and didn't need anything. Each room had temperature control and both fridges had a supply of complimentary beverages. We are traveling and staying several different accommodations, and this one is by far our favorite.

From the welcome matcha to the helpful tips for the area to the comforts of the accommodation this was our favorite place that we stayed during our trip to Japan. There were high-end appliances in the Machiya and both baths were perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing in Kyoto. There was a train only 7 minutes away. We took this to access the Keifuku Randen Tram line to visit Arahiyama bamboo forest and monkey park. The monkey park was fun, but a long hike up a hill. We enjoyed Tantanmen Ebisu Emmachi for a quick cheap dinner of ramen and fried chicken within walking distance from the machiya. We also visited the Gion district.
