"Peaceful stay and good location"

Beautiful and cozy stay in the SHU room! Location is private in a local neighborhood and only a short walk to the train station. The baths were amazing for relaxing after a long day of walking around Kyoto. Each bath has it's own, separate temperature control so you can adjust it perfectly.

Loved how beautiful everything was inside! The aesthetics of the entire house and how clean it was inside. The tubs were extremely beautiful as well. Breakfast was served timely and very unique, unlike other hotels.

"Nice experience but not worth the rate"

We stayed here recently during a trip to Japan. While it was overall a nice experience to get to go to a traditional Machiya but we did not find it to be worth what we paid. Mainly due to lack of maintenance and upkeep details. The air conditioner in the bedroom did not cool down properly. The other AC when turned on had a strong mildew smell. The indoor tub was poorly finished. The outdoor tub and area was very nice, that would be the highlight of our stay.

"Wonderful stay"

The welcome we received along with tea ceremony was so special. Enjoyed how clean the machiya was and how comfortable the beds were. Loved using both the indoor and outdoor baths as well. Must have the dinner set, very filling and tasted incredible.

"They taught us how to make Matcha which was very nice experience. The place is very big and the Onsen is magical!"

"Historic Vibes with a Modern Twist!"

The whole feel of the places was just so great. It had the historic vibes with a modern interior twist. The indoor and outdoor baths were just good to end of an entire day of sightseeing. loved the free beverages provided in the fridge. The place was spacious and comfortable for 4 of us!

"Exceptional"

Everything. The indoor and outdoor baths were amazing and beautiful. The area was quiet but in the middle of everything. The kitchen and amenities were great. The host was wonderfully friendly. We loved our Machiya.

There was nothing not to like.

"Good for family stay"

It was very clean and the facilities are modern. The Dyson hair dryer was very nice to use. Netflix was available also. The yukata provided were nice as well. There were 2 floors and 2 bedrooms.

The location is a bit dark at night.
