Posada Real Ixtapa

Very friendly staff!!! Very clean! We will definitely be back again next year!

We booked the Hotel by looking at a Picture. It was ocean front, we were not sorry. It`s not a Resort, it is a Hotel, the Staff was Fantastic, From the G Manager to the Maid service. Very , Very Helpful Can`t say enough. Wow Will do it again!!!!

My friend and I have never been to Ixtapa. It is difficult to choose where to stay from pictures and maps. We thought that a smaller hotel would be better. I asked Luis de la Maza for his recommendation and he said yes. I had been in contact with him regarding a Monarch Butterfly tour as he has his own tour guide business. We were very happy with the hotel. The people were very friendly. We knew there was only one resturant and it provided more than we needed. I was happy with the fish, fruit, and eating fresh. There was never a line up anywhere and there was always a place for shade. The view from the pool was spectacular and the evening swims under the stars was equally lovely. We are from Canada and were very content to watch the sting rays ride the waves while sipping margaritas. The hotel was very quiet, day and night. No salsa classes, no night life, no blaring music. Just the sound of the ocean pounding the shores. The hotel was very clean and the staff worked hard keeping it spotless. We took a break from the beach for a 2 day tour inland to see the butterflies and Luis took us on a private tour to Zihuatanejo on our last day. This saved us time and energy. Otherwise we enjoyed the beach very much. Beacause it is a tourist area there are vendors selling their wares walking up and down the beach all day. I have travelled all over and I have never met such respectful people. They were noticeably great. I would definitely return to Posada Real. What a gem.

This hotel continues to improve every year with new additions and upgrades

When we booked our Ixtapa Vacation, we loved what the Posada was offering: all inclusive, tennis, kids club, beach access and beach-side pool, and an exercise room. What I can say is that there is a beautiful beach and a beautiful pool. Unfortunately, that is all Posada has going for it. 1. Even though we travelled to Ixtapa at the peak of tourist season, the kids club was closed - which was super disappointing for my kids who were looking forward to the games and activities. They even had a sign saying that the kids club would be open on Saturday and Sunday - so that was a second let down when the weekend arrived and the it remained closed. 2. None of the exercise machines in the exercise room worked, and there were no free weights. The room itself is lovely with a beach view. So go with your own yoga mat and music perhaps? 3. I forgot my sun lotion at the pool, and saw it the next morning at the front desk. I very happily approached the clerk to let her know it was mine and to thank her for finding it. However, the lady at the front desk didn’t believe it was mine and was extremely rude. After much debate, she finally handed it over to me. The best part of this story is that it actually had my name on it. (Why, you may be wondering?? That’s a story for a different review!) 4. The bar tender would not serve a mojitos 5. There were no tennis courts like the website advertised - just one table tennis with no net 6. On the 3rd day of our stay, we discovered the buffet would be closed from then on and for the remainder of our stay, because there were not enough guests to warrant making that much food! 7. Did I mention there were no mojitos? 8. Because there was no buffet, we were given menu options. After several days of eating the same food, I really began longing for my own cooking (which I promise you NEVER happens). We discovered while eating dinner one night, that the people one table over had delicious looking ribs and chicken. We asked, 'why isn’t all that delicious food offered on our menu?' - and that was when we discovered there are different tiers of “all inclusive”, and that we were actually booked in as “semi-inclusive”! Come on West Jet - that wasn’t differentiated in the description! 10. There are activities and no nightly entertainment Ixtapa is beautiful, and I strongly recommend you go. I wandered through the grounds of the Barcelo, Sun Scape, Azule Grand, and the Holiday Inn - all of which looked amazing and I strongly recommend that if you are reading this review, you immediately close the tab for Posada and explore one of those! The only reason this review gets 2 stars is because of the friendly servers, bar tenders, and the location.

Food definitely going downhill. Building getting needed renovations.

The Posada is under a renovation with balconies added ocean side which will provide guests with amazing views of the ocean. The property is probably the closest to the waters edge with an awesome infinity pool between the rooms and the beach. The staff will treat you like family. We have stayed here before and it’s nice to see they are investing in modernizing the rooms. This is not a 5 star property but the value on the rate and location exceeds our expectations. I believe they are working on the remodel in summer months to not distract from tourist travel. We will be back next year

The friendllyness staff I have ever had staying at a resort! They take very great care of there guests and go to great lengths to make sure guests are happy, and make you feel like family. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great assortment of food and drinks. 2019 was the 3rd year of returning to the resort and can't imagine staying anyplace else!

It was had clean rooms and complex. Great location. Great ocean views. Nice pool.

We love the great location of property since it was almost midway on the beach. You do not have to be on the all inclusive meal plan. It was walking distance to the plaza for dining and etc. The staff were all friendly and nice. My only complain is that they should update and renovate the public washrooms next to the out door restaurant that serves the pool. The rooms have all been updated and it is very comfortable.
