The Lansdowne, Eastbourne

Beautiful old hotel with all the original features but sympathetically modernised. Our room was stunning and very comfortable.

Overall clean and good breakfast

Room needs updating. Bathroom needs modernisation with mixer taps etc

We loved the location, our room and the staff.

We were let down by a LOT of ants in our room, but the staff were brilliant (at all points) with dealing with our concerns and sorted everything very efficiently.

amazed at the choices of being able to relaze in comfortable areas around staff were helpful and friendly breakfast was lovely in a good location for getting around a wonderful seafront clean comfy rooms

On the plus side the location is very good with access to restaurants nearby and the sea front. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Evening meal in the hotel restaurant was good.

The room was supposed to be Executive Double room but it was small and uncomfortable so we asked to move and this was accommodated and whilst we lost the sea view we at least were not falling over each other. Many niggles made it annoying. TV remote didn't work as batteries dead, no cold water for the bath, no tissues in room, underwhelming and expensive lunch sandwiches, breakfast poor for the level of hotel with surcharges for items that require some actual cooking etc etc. The place looks great in the photos but has a feel of being gradually run down which is a shame for the staff that work there.
