"Our usual joint in Eastbourne"

We love the Landsdowne for its Old England's atmosphere, its location and sea views. It's also great value and an easy stroll into town. Easy and cheap on-street parking arrangements. Large rooms and great sea views across the lawn.

It's an old building so it can be a bit rough around the edges, particularly in the corridors but the positive points more than compensate. Bathrooms are on the smaller side.

"Gemütliches Hotel im englischen Stil"

Sehr schöne Lage. Wir hatten sogar seitlichen Meerblick von unserem Zimmer. Das Zimmer war sehr gross und hatte für unsere beiden Kinder ein Hochbett.

Das Badezimmer hatte kein Tageslicht/Fenster und sah schon etwas abgewohnt aus.

"This is an excellent hotel."

We held our wedding weekend here. It was perfect! It is a wonderful hotel that we know very well and have stayed many times, which is why we chose to hold our wedding here, too. The hotel is beautifully decorated and remains true to the period in which it was built, whilst having all of the modern comforts of 2026. As always, the rooms were impeccably clean, the staff so courteous and polite, the food delicious with a wide variety of choices, and the whole atmosphere so welcoming. Each of our 60 guests enjoyed our wedding weekend so much. The Lansdowne Hotel made it a weekend to remember in all of the positive ways that one could wish for. Even each of our professional contributors to our wedding enjoyed coming to the hotel so much! We shall be returning again very soon and have made our next booking already.

"Brilliant apart from the bedroom windows"

Everything was great apart from one thing. We couldn't open the windows in the bedroom. We called the service desk who confirmed they had to be kept closed for fire safety. I felt very hot and claustrophobic in the night and had to go into the corridor for air. The following morning we asked again at the desk and were told the windows should have opened a little. I guess they were stuck.

Very poor ventilation in bedrooms. Windows seemed to stuck and we were given conflicting information at the desk.
